Sumit Sapra wins second Destiny 9.0 title on Spartan

He’s one of the best in the online poker business in India and he isn’t considered so for no reason. Regardless of which platform he plays on, Sumit Sapra finds a way to emerge victorious in signature tournaments and last night, he managed another major victory on Spartan Poker.

Destiny INR 20 Lakh GTD has to be among Spartan’s most popular offerings and Sapra took down that tournament last night, not for the first time. It’s his third overall and in fact, his second of Destiny 9.0, which has increased his chances of winning the Destiny 9.0 Finale SnG as well.

It was late in April when Sapra won Destiny and a little over a month later, he won his second title of the same edition. Remember, there’s INR 10 Lakh up for grabs in that finale including INR 5 Lakh to the winner, and with his current love for Destiny, Sapra seems to be in the driver’s seat to win the SnG as well. 

Not many times in the past has someone won twice in a single edition of Destiny on Spartan Poker, so that goes to show how good a poker pro Sapra is! With a buy-in of INR 5,500, a field of 353 entries registered to last night’s tournament and Sapra turned out to be the biggest winner, bagging INR 5,30,000 for his efforts.

Sapra plays as ‘holla@yoboy’ on Spartan and last night, this player outlasted everyone else including quite a few known names who emerged in the top 30 places that were paid out. Among them were Siddarth SInghvi (18th), Sahil Mahboobani (6th) and others. In heads-up, the losing player was ‘Brianstark’ who took home a pay-check of INR 3,30,000 for finishing second.
