Stanley Tang may not be a big name in poker, but he has made a name for himself in the world of business. Tang, who was born in Hong Kong, is the co-founder of DoorDash—an online food ordering and delivery platform. Apart from the abovementioned business, Tang has a deep interest in poker. His first recorded tournament cash came in the year 2016 from an Asian series. 

Stanley Tang’s poker journey 

In the 2016 Asian Cup of Poker, Tang finished 21st for a sum of HKD 45K. The Stanford University graduate did not waste much time and showed up at the World Series of Poker (WSOP). The DoorDash co-founder has been grinding regularly at the ARIA Resort and Casino. Not just tournaments, the 31-year-old is known to compete in nosebleed stakes in private games too. 

Starting September 2021, Tang made several appearances at the PokerGo Tour (PGT) events like Poker Masters, ARIA High Roller Series, Wynn High Roller Series, and the PokerGo Cup.

In April 2022, the tech entrepreneur made his debut in High Stakes Poker. In one of the NLH cash games, where the stakes were $500/$1,000, Tang got to rub shoulders with established players Eric Persson, Tom Dwan, Bryn Kenney, Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, and Garrett Adelstein.

Coming to this San Francisco resident’s Hendon Mob stats, he has over $900K in total live earnings. Tang’s highest cash came in the form of Poker Masters Event 12 ($100K buy-in). The players finished 4th for a prize money worth $319,000. 

Apart from this largest score, Tang has two more cashes worth more than $100K. These two cashes have both come from high roller tournaments, one from WSOP ($101,149), another from PokerGo Tour Wynn High Roller Series ($141,900). 

Tang’s latest appearance in Las Vegas was at the PokerGo Cup Event 7. Here, the player claimed the 10th position for $31,500.

Tang owns 4% of DoorDash. In early December 2020, this food delivery company went public on the New York Stock Exchange. The entrepreneur was also listed in the Forbes 30 Under 30 under the consumer technology category. Considering his income from business and poker, Tang has seen a rise of $3 Million in his net worth which stands at a whopping $1.2 Billion as of March 2024.
