Pulkit Goyal emerged victorious in the Spartan Super Series (SSS) Finale 2017 Super HighRoller outlasting 94 entries in the tournament. The second highlight of the schedule was The Flash tournament which was shipped by ‘AcesHeart’. The SSS leaderboard is still on to claim a Harley Davidson 750cc motorcycle and INR 5 Lakhs to up top.
Let’s take a quick look at yesterday’s play:
SSS #17 INR 550 (300K GTD) (R+A)
Due to some technical glitches, SSS #16 was cancelled. SSS #17 began at 4 pm with 600 entries taking part in the tournament. These entries made a prize pool of INR 300,000 which was shared amongst top 24 places with a min-cash of INR 3,000.
The event saw online reg Ankush ‘nirvana89’ Aryan to take down the title for INR 69,000 defeating India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2017 side event winner Anant ‘Pro’ Purohit in the heads-up battle. Purohit took home INR 46,350 for his second-place finish. The third-place finisher Ankur ‘aryan89’ Aryan is also known and is in fact the brother of the winner and he took INR 31,500 for this finish.
Speaking to the champion, Akush Aryan said, “I am quite happy as me and my brother were in final 3 contestants. Ankur lost a big pot on pair of Kinds with a Jack kicker against Anant’s Queen kicker. Both of them were equal stacks and I was the shortest. So once Anant busted Ankur he had ~6x chip lead in HU. However, I played aggressively and doubled up to almost equal stacks in 20-25 hands. Heads up I took a call on K high, which gave me the lead I was looking for. I have played just 3 games in sss as I was on a lil break from poker rather i started playing sss yesterday only but now I guess I am gonna play few other games as well.”
