Fridays are dedicated to two incredible tournaments, TGIF INR 12 Lakhs GTD and The Elite INR 30 Lakhs GTD always jammed with massive entries. Both tournaments were a part of Spartan Super Series (SSS) that came with INR 4.7+ Crores GTD wrapped up another day yesterday crowning 6 winners on Spartan Poker. And here is a quick summary of SSS Day 5…
This was the first tournament held on SSS Day 5, registering 284 players and each entering for a buy-in of INR 550. The top 27 places received a share from the prize pool of min-cash INR 1,750. It was Rameshwar Majhi aka ‘Tudu007’ who took the first title of the day. In the final hand of the tournament, Majhi playing against ‘Bet2Win’ heads-up and both players settle for a 2-way deal with the former carrying the larger stack and adding a valuable title to his poker career.
218 players registered themselves to the second tournament, each chipping INR 2,200 buy-in. Slightly surpassing the guarantee, a new prize pool was created to be shared among the top 17 places receiving a min-cash of INR 6,845. Yesterday wasn’t the first win for Mithun Mahesh aka ‘Intuitionnn’ (read below) who championed the Afternoon Showdown after beating ‘OrangeZuce’ in heads-up.
In Level #35, blinds at 6,000/12,000 ante 1,500, both players enter the final hand. Mahesh (Qh 9h) with 1.4 million chips playing against ‘OrangeZuce’ (As 8h) with 165k chips. Pre-flop, both players put their entire stack on the table. The board opens Jc Qs 6d Kh Kd, the former showed his two pairs of Kings and Queens over the latter’s single pair of Kings, triumphing the event and walking away with the first-place prize money.
Powering through the field was Sameer Prakash Paranjape aka ‘Falcon_Prince’ knocking out Neeraj Kumar aka ‘SelfClaimedPros’ in heads-up. The Afternoon Hi-Fi registered a total of 289 players entering for a buy-in of INR 1,100. Eventually, the top 24 places received a paycheck of min-cash INR 3,000.
In Level #33, blinds at 4,500/9,000 ante 1,125, both players enter the final hand. Paranjape (Ks Kd) with 1.5 million chips playing against Kumar (Ah 7c) with 581k chips. Pre-flop, Kumar raises 571k puts his entire stack in the middle and the former raises 1.1 million. The board opens 5h 5d 2s Kh Ac, Paranjape shows his full house KKK55 over opponent’s two pair of Aces and Fives. And that’s when the winner, Paranjape shipped the tournament.
Spartan Poker hosts TGIF INR 12 Lakhs GTD reserved for each Friday. Always attracting players in abundant and so was yesterday, observing a massive field of 812 entries, registering for a buy-in of INR 1,650. The limelight was taken by a well-known online grinder, Siddharth Karia aka ‘schemer77’ defeating ‘Consp^’ in heads-up.
In Level #48, blinds at 36,000/72,000 ante 5,000, both players enter the final hand. Karia (Js Jd) with 6 million chips playing against ‘Consp^’ (8d 9h) with 1 million chips. Flop 6s 9c 2s, the former bets 77k, and the latter raises 1.2 million and puts his entire stack in the middle. The turn and river Tc Kd made no difference and both players show their cards. Karia with pair of Jacks over his opponent’s pair of Nines triumphed the tournament and added a valuable title to his poker career.
Just as the name suggests, The Elite INR 30 Lakhs GTD is hosted on Spartan Poker, enticing mid and high stakes players. Long-hours of intense grinding finally led to the emergence of the ultimate winner ‘JhingaLala’ who defeated the well-known online crusher Sriharsha Doddapaneni’ aka ‘Fish2050’ in heads-up with pair of Aces against Doddapaneni’s pair of Tens. However, the tournament attracted 324 players with each player chipping in INR 11,000 buy-in. The guarantee was surpassed to create a prize pool of INR 32 Lakhs which was later shared among the top 31 players receiving a min-cash of INR 28,512.
Being the last tournament of each day on SSS, Hi-Fi attracted a good field of 339 players who entered for a buy-in of INR1,650. Undoubtedly, fate was in favour of Mithun Mahesh aka ‘Intuitionnn’ who shipped two titles yesterday including Hi-Fi after defeating ‘KIM28’ in heads-up. The tournament saw the top 27 places receiving a paycheck of min-cash INR 5,400.
In Level #42, blinds at 16,000/32,000 ante 4,000, Mahesh (Js Th) enters with 1.5 million chips against his opponent ‘KIM28’ (As Qc) with 956k chips. Both players check on flop 9s Qs Ac, but with turn 8s, Mahesh bets 213k while the latter put his entire stack in the middle. River 2d made no difference for ‘KIM28’ and that’s when Mahesh showed his straight, beating the opponent’s two pairs of Aces and Queens.
