Sriharsha D, Ankit Wadhawan win titles on IOPC Day 15

Yesterday was the final day of the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) on Spartan Poker. Apart from the prestigious IOPC Millionaire which had a winner in Srihari Bang, there were a number of other tournaments lined up for the day, including the likes of IOPC Sunday SuperStack, Big Daddy and others. IOPC Event #71 INR 2.25 Lakh GTD

Last day of the series and the opening tournament once again had a buy-in of INR 550, allowing lesser-known players to be a part of the action. Here, 558 entries registered and took the prize pool above the guaranteed amount, eventually being shared among the top 32 places for a minimum of INR 1,925 each. Winning the tournament and bagging the top prize of INR 55,939 in this tournament was ‘chitti3.0’ and this became his second title of the series on Spartan Poker. In heads-up, he beat ‘Smokijoejr’ who won INR 37,190 for his runner-up finish.

IOPC Event #72 INR 7.5 Lakh GTD

With a buy-in of INR 1,100, a total field of 827 entries played this tournament, passing the advertised guarantee and allowing the top 56 finishers to be paid with a min-cash of INR 3,597. Clearly a fan of Bollywood movies, it was ‘Ghajini’ who topped the field and strengthened his poker bankroll by INR 1,60,024, beating Srihari Bang aka ‘bangbang99’ in heads-up, the latter later going on to win the IOPC Millionaire tournament as well after cashing for INR 1,00,894 for second place here. Bang shoved all-in with Kh Qh and got a call from the eventual winner, with pocket Sixes. The board ran out 6h 5c 7d 9s 5d and a Full House was good enough for Ghajini to take down the pot and the title.

IOPC Event #73 Sunday SuperStack INR 30 Lakh GTD

Probably the most popular of Spartan Poker’s featured tournaments, Sunday SuperStack has a buy-in of INR 5,500 and when this was played yesterday, we witnessed a massive field of 866 entries which crushed the guarantee by a massive margin, creating a new prize pool of INR 43.3 Lakh. Coming out on top of this field and enduring a grind of nearly 10 hours (ending at 5:49am this morning) was Ankit Wadhawan aka ‘Shippament’ who won the top prize of INR 8,30,927 for this massive effort. As for the runner-up ‘yomamafat’, he/she still received a decent pay-out of INR 5,21,332 for finishing second. After already creating a chip lead of over 5:1, it was an A-T straight in the final hand that gave Wadhawan the victory, adding to many titles he has won on Spartan Poker in the past.

IOPC Event #74 Big Daddy INR 10 Lakh GTD

Here’s another Sunday feature that has been doing well on Spartan Poker since the year or more that it is being played on their platform. Starting at 10pm last night, this tournament wrapped up by 3:39am and the field of 1,019 entries was just enough to break the guarantee and allow the top 73 finishers to be paid out with a min-cash of INR 3,158. It was popular circuit player Sriharsha Doddapaneni who finally took down the title, playing as ‘GTOsucks’ on Spartan and here, winning INR 1,95,138 along with the IOPC title. The runner-up was ‘dvaio’ who bagged INR 1,21,464 for finishing second.

IOPC Millionaire INR 2 Crore GTD Day 1G

The last flight of any multi-day tournament, whether live or online is almost always the biggest of all and things were no different here in IOPC Millionaire. Day 1G was the last of seven starting flights and the only turbo flight as well, attracting a massive field of 589 entries where each entry paid the buy-in of INR 11,000, adding INR 58.9 Lakh to the tournament prize pool. From them, 88 survivors marched on to Day 2, led by Naren Purohit aka ‘IMUNAGI’ who took a stack of 254,561 chips forward after firing three bullets on the day.
