Sriharsha D 5th in Chips at Day 5 Of EPT Barcelona Main Event

Sriharsha Doddapaneni is having a fantastic run at the felts of the EPT Barcelona Main Event. He enters Day 5 with a stack of 2,730,000, currently ranked 5th among the 40 who survived the gruelling past four days of some incredible poker hands. The number of players has whittled down tremendously, with day 4 seeing 40 players left out of 113.  Even on Day 3, out of 293 entries, only 113 survived. 

Doddapaneni has come a long way in a tournament that saw a total field of 1,975 entries. He walked into Day 4, ranking ninth in chips out of the final 113 players, with a stack of 1,192,000. From there, has more than doubled his chips towards the end of Day 4.

Stephen Song from USA id the current chip leader with 4,130,000 in chips, for this event happening at Casino Barcelona. On Day 3, Timothy Chung was the chip leader with 1,571,000, and he’s currently still in the top ten at the end of Day 4. With Doddappaneni adding to his stack and coming closer to the chip leader, there’s every chance he’s gearing up for a life-altering prize at the EPT Barcelona Main Event.

There’s still a long way to go to determine who will ship the Main Event, but the players are competing for the €9,578,750 prize pool. As things stand, the winner will receive €1,512,000 and the prestigious PokerStars trophy. EPT Barcelona also saw other Indian players on their felts, with Paawan Bansal being there until Day 3 when they got busted and took home €8,700 for 282nd place. That considerable amount looks merge now, with the last payout being €23,430 to Mark Teltscher (41st place). 

Other Indian players doing well at EPT Barcelona include Santhosh Suvarna, who won ₹3.3+ Cr at Event #22 EPT Super High Roller after achieving a podium finish at the €12,300 PokerStars Cuatro Knockout. Ahuja has earlier been in the money in two other EPT Barcelona events, the Event #1 EST Main Event and Event #18 Estrellas Club, where he cashed out €2,230 and €1,110, respectively.

Sriharsha Doddapaneni has been playing poker for a while now, and according to HendonMob, the first time he was in the money was at PokerDream Manila’s Main Event, #22, when he cashed out ₱ 214,000 ($3,866). His best live cash was $33,830 in 2023 at the WPT Vietnam – Passport to the World Championship, Hanoi, ₫ 50,000,000 + 5,000,000 No Limit Hold’em – Mega Stack High Roller. His total live earnings are $197,606, and it remains to be seen just how much he adds to these numbers. It goes without saying that his rake-in at EPT Barcelona will add to his list of achievements and probably be a personal record.

EPT Barcelona has been running since 26th August and will end on 8th September. EPT Barcelona 2024 is in the process of hosting 47 events from August 26 to September 8, 2024, at Casino Barcelona. The schedule features various buy-ins, ranging from the €1,100 Estrellas Main Event to the €100,000 Super High Roller. Notable events include the EPT Main Event (€5,300), which will take place from the 1st to the 8th of September and is currently going on.
