Simone Andrian wins WSOP Europe 2024 Main Event


The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOP Europe) 2024 has concluded, and we have some big winners. Simone Andrian of Italy won the Main Event, taking home € 1,300,000 from the total prize pool of €7,219,000, beating a total of 768 entries.

Andrian was in a heads-up play with Urmo Velvelt, and the gruelling poker game lasted for more than three hours. When the heads-up began, Velvelt had a slight lead over Andrian in chips. At one point in the intense play, Velvelt had the lion’s share of the chips in play. Interestingly, the climax came at King’s Resort, the very place where Andrian had begun his live poker journey.  Andrian becomes the 15th player to ship the ME. 

The play ended when Andrian showed up with T T to Velvelt’s A T , with the flop being 6 2 2 . The turn then was 7 , and at the river, Velvelt had to concede defeat to the K

According to the player himself, this is by far the biggest score of his career, and he confessed that the victory wasn’t easy. The hands went pretty deep, and the heads-up went that way, too. However, the winner conquered these issues by the end of the play.

All About Simone Andrian 

This is a great achievement for the poker player who has played in several international poker series since 2018. He has played several WSOP events through the years, including winning a WSOP bracelet in 2021 by shipping the No Limit Hold’em 6-Max Bracelet Event, taking home $179,653 along with the coveted jewellery. While he has been in the money several times in his career, he has shipped multiple events, including the No Limit Hold’em -Warm Up at Merit Poker Western Series in 2024, taking home $165,000.

Prior to that, he made headlines for shipping events twice in the same month: in June, when he shipped the WPT Prime Main Event at the World Poker Tour Prime, taking home $157,318, and the Main Event at PokerStars Summer Festival Malta, 2023, signing out with a $168,129 prize.

WSOP Europe has once again exemplified how skilled poker players have the chance and opportunity not just to show their playing skills but also to make life-changing amounts in just a couple of days at the big-money series. WSOP is one of the biggest brands in the global poker community, and it’s a matter of prestige to ship events and win bracelets.
