Siddarth Singhvi leads Day 1A of The Millionaire Main Event


Spartan Poker is well known for hosting the biggest tournaments in online poker in the country and the ongoing India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) is proving to be no different. Yesterday wrapped up Day 11 of the IOPC, where we had a total of 5 tournaments, 4 of which declared their respective winners. The fifth and star attraction was The Millionaire Main Event INR 3 Crore GTD which finished the first of its several starting flights. Here is a complete summary of IOPC Day 11

IOPC Event #60 INR 3 Lakhs GTD

The first tournament recorded 705 entries which was just enough to cross the advertised guaranteed amount, each paying INR 550 to enter. From the vast field, only the top 47 were to be paid out and each of them received a minimum of INR 2,009. Heads-up play was gradually reached its final hand in Level 43 where we saw ‘Lordofcards31’ holding K♦ Q♦ up against ‘Magnemo’ T♥ A♦. The latter shoved pre-flop and got a call from the former. The board opened 5♠ 9♠ Q♥ Q♣ 4♠ and ‘Lordofcards31’ remained undefeated with his trip Queens over his opponent’s pair of Queens and added a major title to his poker career.

IOPC Event #61 Afternoon Hi-Fi INR 4 Lakhs GTD

Paying INR 1,100 to enter, a field of 550 entries joined the competition which was enough to pass the guarantee and create a bigger prize pool of INR 5.50 Lakhs from which the top 39 finishers profited. It was Bhanu Prakash aka ‘spectre who was announced as the official winner adding yet another IOPC title after the players struck a three-way deal. Abhishek Kumar aka ‘allout1’ took second position and ‘Kamikaze_Pilot’ in the third place.

IOPC Event #62 The Millionaire Main Event – Day 1A

Apart from the other high-value tournaments taking place in IOPC, The Millionaire Main Event stands apart promising a massive INR 3 Crore GTD to participants. India’s biggest online poker tournament concluded Day 1A with 606 runners taking part after each paid a buy-in of INR 11,000. Well-known circuit grinder Siddarth Singhvi aka ‘PeterPunter’, built a towering stack of 2.96 million advanced to Day 2 as the chip leader of the opening flight while ‘monuguru’ with 2.91 million chips remains his closest competitor stack-wise.

IOPC Event #63 ReCharge INR 14 Lakhs GTD

Poker aficionados are well aware of Spartan Poker’s Monday feature, ReCharge INR 14 Lakhs GTD. Having a buy-in of INR 2,200, this tournament saw Srihari Bang playing as ‘bangbang99’ outlasting a field of 978 entries. Out of these massive numbers the top 87 finishers profited from the incredible prize pool of INR 19.56 Lakhs along with a min-cash of INR 6,063.

Bang with his big slick K♣ A♠ defeated ‘TheWitcher99’ (A♣ 9♣) in heads-up to grab the IOPC title along with the first-place prize money. In level 54 of the tournament, both players shoved and drew trip Sixes from the board 4♠ 6♥ 6♦ T♣ 6♣. Bang’s King kicker proved fortunate railing out his opponent to add another feather to his already crowded poker cap.

IOPC Event #64 Daily Hi-Fi INR 12.5 Lakhs GTD

IOPC Day 11 ended with Daily Hi-Fi being the final tournament of the day. With a buy-in of INR 2,200, a total of 730 entries were enough to surpass the displayed guarantee and accumulate INR 14.60 Lakhs in the prize pool and the top 63 finishers were paid out with a min-cash of INR 5,840. An anonymous player, appropriately enough named ‘whodahellru’ triumphed the competition after knocking out ‘pokermajid’ in heads-up with his higher pair of Tens and Sixes over his opponent’s Sixes and Twos.
