Several US casinos begin to reopen after COVID-19 closure

Taking one step at a time amid the pandemic, after months of closure, casinos around the world are the reopening their doors so that employees can get back to work and economy can soon be revived. Several casinos are already inviting players and enthusiasts by maintaining strict social distancing norms.

Operators of live poker are ready to get back to work! On Monday, California’s The Towers Casino and Card Room in Grass Valley became the first casino to reopen to live poker players. However, only a small number of players are allowed. After 62 days of closure, the card room is following “strictest environmental health guidelines to endure safety and welfare of our employees and patrons.”

There are certain guidelines that players need to follow. The casino is maintaining player reservation to keep the number of people waiting for a minimum seat. Measures like “stringent sanitizing of chips/cards” before and after they are used. Towers is also following “rigorous disinfecting” to keep the environment clean and safe. Players are prohibited to bring communal food and drinks in the casino.

Another large poker room in the country, the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa is reopening on Thursday, 21 May at 7 pm after shutting their doors on 20 March. The casino will be utilizing 46 tables and every game played will be six-handed only. SHRT will be the first one to implement plexiglass dividers that will shield each player from coming into contact with another, only leaving an opening for the cards and chips.

Bestbet in Florida also announced to let players enter the casino room on 22 May at 10 am. People entering the premises will have “non-invasive” temperature scanning. Apart from maintain social distance, wearing masks is a compulsion for all visitors and employees.
