Indian poker player Santhosh Suvarna has once again made Indian poker players proud with his achievements at the poker table. The Bengaluru-based player, who routinely participates in some of the most prestigious poker tournaments across the world, took 7th rank at the Main Event of the Triton Poker Series Montenegro and took home $643,000 (~₹5.48 Crore).
Jesei Lonis, the 34-year-old poker player, took the event, which had 180 entries, to take home $3,446,298 after a heads-up deal with Mikalai Vaskaboinikau. Incidentally, Vaskaboinikau is last year’s champion. Suvarna’s seventh-place win is commendable, as the final table featured 11 of the most accomplished poker players in the world, each with a Triton title to their name. Suvarna saw a deep run, until bowing out at the 7th rank. But one thing is for sure: the two-time WSOP bracelet winner is still raring to go to the poker table. Suvarna has had a good Triton outing as well, as he previously saw cash at the Event #2, taking home another $$50,500 (~₹43.20 Lakh).

Santhosh Suvarna is one of the most famous Indian poker players, and it’s simply because of the sheer amount of money he has amassed at the poker table. With his two WSOP bracelets, he still has a whopping $18 Million in total earnings. His highest single take-home to date was at the 55th World Series of Poker, coincidentally, at the 55th Event, when he took home close to $5 Million and a WSOP bracelet. Suvarna saw his first cash in 2017 in India, when he ranked 7th at an High Roller event of the Deltin Poker Tour, and since then, he has seen a whopping 25 Triton cashouts and 13 WSOP cash-outs in his short career. His current cash at Triton is just more proof that his nickname, ‘The Indian Prince of Poker, ‘ fits well.
