Santhosh Suvarna Takes ~₹1 Cr At Event 8 Of Triton Super High Roller Series


The Triton Super High Roller Series is bringing in all the poker action, and Indian players are now grabbing headlines. India’s Santhosh Suvarna took ₹1.06 Cr, ranking 18th on the winners list of Event #8, one that Mario Mosböck shipped, taking home $1.84 Million (~₹16 Crore). In the process, Mario also shipped his third Triton Poker Series title. The event had more than 200 entries, and the prize pool finally ballooned to $10.75 Million.

Suvarna is one of the most famous Indian poker players. He has several achievements to his name, including a Triton championship and two World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, becoming the first Indian to achieve those. 

Santhosh Suvarna has had a great 2024, and that streak is only moving into the new year. He was in the top 10 winners’ lists of two events of WSOP Paradise 2024, ranking 4th and 5th. In 2024, he saw money twice at the Triton High Super High Roller Series, at Event #13 and Event #5. At WSOP 2024, he was in the money at multiple events, including shipping the Bracelet Event #55. Suvarna has a total live event cash-out of around ₹1.3 Crore.

He is one of the most famous and successful poker players and has time and again brought glory to the country with his exploits on the poker table. It remains to be seen where he decides to strike next.

The Triton Super High Roller Series (SHRS) Jeju 2025, held from February 26 to March 15 at the Landing Casino in Jeju Shinhwa World, South Korea, features 18 events with buy-ins ranging from $15,000 to $150,000. It has drawn a record number of entries and has generated unprecedented prize pools. 

One of the standout tournaments was Event #11, the $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em (NLH) Main Event, which drew an astonishing 285 entries—the largest turnout for a six-figure buy-in event in poker history. Chinese player Huang Wenjie emerged victorious, claiming the top prize of $5,555,000 after outlasting a competitive field that included renowned professionals like Dan “Jungleman” Cates

Another highlight was Event #12, the $125,000 NLH 7-Handed tournament. Thai poker pro Punnat Punsri secured his third Triton title in this event, taking home $2,594,555. He reached a heads-up deal with Germany’s Christoph Vogelsang, who earned $2,456,445 for his runner-up finish.
