Santhosh Suvarna, the two-time WSOP bracelet winner and Indian poker player, made the Indian poker fraternity proud once again by wrenching 2nd place at the Kick-Off event of the Super High Roller Bowl Series (SHRB) IX in Cyprus. The vent was held at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino in Cyprus. The series will go on from 23rd to 25th August.
He made it to the Final Table and ended up second, only to Roman Hrabec, the former professional hockey player who shipped the event for $316,000. Suvarna and Hrabec were among the 39 entries and were at the Final Table, which consisted of 8 players, out of whom 6 players hit payday. Suvarna took home $220,000 for his outing.

Hrabec and Suvarna were locked in a heads-up play. Hrabec had a 2:1 lead over Suvarna in the beginning. Suvarna pitted an Ax2x against Hrabec’s pocket kings. Suvarna pulled a deuce, but that was the end of his run.

Santhosh Suvarna is one of the most famous poker players in India, and he has several achievements to his credit. According to Hendon Mob, he ranks first on the Indian All-Time Money List. His total live earnings to date are $13,937,44, and his best Live Cash to date is $5,415,15 at the $250,000 No Limit Hold’Em Bracelet Event #55 World Series of Poker (WSOP) (2024). Suvarna is a prolific poker player, and his first cashout date dates back to 2017 at the Deltin Poker Tournament (2017). He won his first WSOP bracelet at WSOP Europe.

The Super High Roller Bowl is a recurring poker tournament held at various locations worldwide. The first edition was held in July 2015 at Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Brian Rast shipped the prize of $7,525,000 then. Since then, the series has seen several editions, with multiple events taking place in a single year too.
