2021 WSOP Online : Finland’s Samuel Vousden Wins His First WSOP Bracelet In Event #16

Finland’s Samuel Vousden won his first WSOP bracelet on GGPoker for Event #16: $1,050 WSOP GGMasters HR Freezeout NLH in the 2021 WSOP Online. He overcame over two thousand participants on a difficult Day 2. The $2 million guarantee event drew 2240 entries for a total prize pool of $2,240,000, with Vousden taking home the top prize of $2,74,519.

Joshua McCully of Australia built his stack in the last hour of Day 1 and was the chip leader heading into Day 2 before losing to Alexander ‘0 really’ Zubov. Pablo Silva, Miltiades Kontes, Faraz ‘Pokerguy21’ Jaka, and Mor ‘Yosemite Sam’ Leybovich were among the early Day 2 exits.

For the first half of Day 2, Vousden was at the top until a terrible run-in with Zubov’s aces which gave the eventual winner a minor setback. Vousden was eighth in chip lead. The turnaround began when he forced Zubov to fold a large pot on the river. Vousden found a double with pocket kings against Bernardo Granato shortly after. He then chipped up with a set of sixes against Nicolo ‘Do-WhatYou-lov3’ Bartolone.

With pocket jacks, Vousden made Zubov depart at the ninth spot before capturing a large pot from Sergei Denisov and further extending his chip lead. The champion promptly dispatched Denisov in sixth place, followed by Bartolone in fifth place with three flopped  jacks and Granato in fourth place with an ace-king.

With just three players remaining, Vousden kept the pressure on with pre-flop bets before Qibing ‘degenkaliu’ Wang doubled up with ace-king to take the chip lead. Wang edged out Vousden by a small lead after eliminating Zac Duce in third place. Vousden finally shot down Wang with a flush to win his first WSOP gold bracelet after scooping back-to-back pots to build a lead.
