Ryan Bambrick wins first WSOP bracelet in PLO event

It has been a year for new winners so far at the 2018 World Series of Poker. We last reported news of Gal Yifrach winning Event #28 of the WSOP and now, another first-time winner has been crowned in New Jersey’s Ryan Bambrick, who didn’t have a lot of prior experience coming into this tournament.

He registered into Event #30: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha at the 2018 WSOP and was the chip leader from among the final 13 that made it to the final day of the tournament. He managed to keep the lead and momentum and ended up winning the tournament for a career-best prize money of $217,123 for first place.

Honestly, he had nothing much on his live poker CV before this, with less than $50k in live cashes, no prior title and a previous best cash of just $13,500. He gave his job as a day trader a small break to come and play at the WSOP over the summer, and with four cashes this year already, he may soon even consider making poker a full-time profession.

“I told my work I just wanted to play poker for now and wanted to see how the World Series would go. I might pick it back up after the World Series. I’m not sure what I’m going to do. I was just trying to play my best game the whole time. I was really focused on trying to win. I wasn’t really concerned about the pay jumps. I just wanted to win a bracelet,” said Bambrick after this win.

While no Indians cashed high in this tournament, Indian-origin Canadian, Pushpinder Singh, finished on the final table for a prize of $14,904. Take a look at the final table results:
