Rohit Mishra wins big again – SSS Elite this time

The Spartan Super Series (SSS) is on in full swing at the moment on Spartan Poker, with Day 3 coming to an end last night. Among five tournaments scheduled for the day, SSS Event #16 The Elite was the biggest, with a massive INR 50 Lakh guarantee, also making it the second biggest tournament in the series, only behind the Main Event.

As the name suggests, this tournament is meant for the elite group of poker players in India, those who know their game well and those who don’t mind the steep buy-in of INR 27,500. Yesterday, a field of 230 entries each shelled out this buy-in, creating an even bigger prize pool of INR 57.5 Lakh.

Eventually, this was shared among the top 23 players and you shouldn’t be surprised to know which player ended up taking away the biggest chunk of this prize pool. It was Rohit Mishra aka ‘ShippingYard’ once again, who is now making a habit of winning highest value tournaments online, having even shipped the SSS Super High Roller on Spartan in November last year.

Last night, he managed another huge bankroll addition, taking away INR 13,36,875 as first-place cash prize after he powered through a field which had some of the best poker players in India. In heads-up, he beat ‘holla@yoboy’, who earned a pretty hefty prize for finishing second too – INR 9,05,625.

Just to give you an idea of the level of competition witnessed in this tournament, it was Eka Vedantham aka ‘gettingthere’ who finished 3rd, taking away INR 6,03,750. Another top player in Abhinav Iyer aka ‘Schumi91’ was also on the FT, finishing 4th for INR 4,94,500.

In case this wasn’t enough to digest, Nishant Sharma aka ‘FunkyouFTW1’ was in the mix too, finishing 6th for INR 3,07,625 while India’s first WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant aka ‘SuperuSer’ finished 7th for INR 2,27,700. Other names to cash include Aditya Chaudhary (9th), Pulkit Goyal (10th), Pranav Bang (11th), Sahil Chutani (12th) and Jayjit Ray (17th).

The winner, Rohit Mishra, is now making working his way up to the top and will soon be regarded as one of the best, if he isn’t already. To know how he does in the rest of the series on Spartan, keep reading GutshotMagazine.com.
