Rohit Mishra tops Mega Suits; Sagar Choudhury wins Millions

Yesterday’s Sunday was action-packed on Adda52, one of the foremost poker websites in India. The grind would’ve been a tough one for those who played on the client as it was a Sunday, meaning a work-off and hence oversized fields, and also some of the top talents in the country were running.

Adda52 started the day with the Sunday AF promotion, promising a minimum of INR 75 Lakhs in cash prizes up for grabs in various tournaments throughout the day. Mega Suits was the biggest for the day, with a boosted INR 5 Lakhs in GTD in addition to its normal INR 30 Lakhs GTD.

Mega Suits AF INR 35 Lakhs GTD

Rohit Mishra aka ‘rohit22rm’ won the biggest tournament of the day and took home INR 8,40,000 as the first-place cash prize. He beat ‘jk307’ and a tough overall field to ship the title. The FT itself included the likes of Siddarth Singhvi aka ‘badtameez_donk’ (3rd – INR 3,32,500), Sanat Mehrotra aka ‘mehro2511’ (4th – INR 2,62,500) and Goonjan Mall aka ‘gmtesting’ (5th – INR 1,75,000).

Mishra beat a field of 550 entries (271 re-entries), who coughed up the INR 5,500 buy-in. The tournament paid the top 55 places and Mishra, who topped the field, must’ve been elated beyond words to crack such a hard nut of a tournament.

Mishra is a regular on all leading platforms of India. His online record includes shiny feathers like Spartan SSS ElitePokerBaazi Endeavour, both of which he won in Feb this year, in his cap. He has shown his capacity for winning in the past and he will surely hope to continue it in the future.

Millions AF INR 20 Lakhs GTD

The second biggest one hosted every week on Adda52 is this tournament. Last night’s Millions attracted a total field of 167 entries (including 57 re-entries) for a buy-in of INR 11,000. The player to ship this again was a regular Sagar Choudhury aka ‘alwaysnutz’ earning INR 5,40,000 as the first-place cash prize.

Choudhury beat Sahil Chutani aka ‘bluffme19’ in heads-up to secure the Millions title. Some regs to finish on the Final Table were Abhineet Jain aka ‘pokemon13’ (4th – INR 1,85,000), Chandan Arora aka ‘darkfish15’ (5th – INR 1,35,000), Abhishek Garg aka ‘thegrinder’ (7th – INR 75,000) and Siddhanth Kapoor aka ‘bullzeyepower’ (8th – INR 60,000).

We contacted Choudhury and he said, “I always wanted to win this one for a long time. I’ve never been able to do well in this particular tourney. It feels good to finally get the monkey of the back. It was a tough Final Table with ‘bluffme19’ [Chutani] with a huge chip lead. The strategy was simple: don’t play against him till the time it is 3-handed. Soon bluffme19 and Bit2Easy played many hands and the latter was busted. I started heads-up with 1:3 chip deficit with one of best HU players.

He lastly said, “It really feels special to win one HU after a long time. I want to thank Rajat Sharma for helping out with hand review now and then without any benefit or so.

Choudhury is a well-respected community player with staggering cashes to his name. Among his recent achievements was shipping one of the Destiny tournaments in the 8th edition, but eventually the SNG package winner came to be Kanishka Samant. Last night’s Adda52 win is also a significant achievement in his career and a major addition to his bankroll.
