Rohit Jinwal takes down BPT High Roller for 39.38 Lakh

The Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) is on in full swing at Casino Pride 2 in Goa and so far, we’ve had two tournaments coming to an end. A couple of nights back, Abhijeet Shetty emerged victorious in the 15k Kick Off Event and a few hours ago, the 100k High Roller also declared its winner in Rohit Jinwal.

Adda52 Pro Kunal Patni led 66 survivors going into Day 2 of the tournament and when registration closed after Level 15, we had a total count of 161 entries. From this field, the top 18 players were to be paid out with a minimum cash of INR 2,00,400. This would come out of the total accumulated prize pool of INR 1,52,95,000.

The overnight chip leader Patni unfortunately couldn’t make the money but some of the known names to cash early on were Neel Joshi (18th), Arsh Grover (17th), Eka Vedantham (15th), Jasven Saigal (14th), Kavish Kukreja (13th), Rajeev Kanjani (11th), Manish Lakhotia (9th) and others.

It was Ankit Wadhawan who took the chip lead going into the final table of 8 players and there were a number of poker professionals on that table including WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer, Vivek Rughani, Siddharth Karia and others. Eventually, Wadhawan eliminated 5 of 8 FT finalists and reached heads-up against Rohit Jinwal.

Wadhawan has been doing well in live poker in recent times, having also finished 4th in the recent IPC High Roller for a career-best INR 12,71,300. Here, he entered heads-up with a 2:1 chip lead but after a swingy session, he finished second to Jinwal, the latter winning and recording only his second live cash, but a massive one of INR 39.38 Lakh. In the final hand, Wadhawan shoved with Q9 and got a call from Jinwal who revealed KJ on a board that bricked and gave Jinwal an Ace-high win with King kicker.

Final Table Results:

  1. Rohit Jinwal – INR 39,38,600
  2. Ankit Wadhawan – INR 27,57,700
  3. Siddharth Karia – INR 17,74,200
  4. Vivek Rughani – INR 13,13,800
  5. Sajjan Barnwal – INR 9,85,000
  6. Abhinav Iyer – INR 7,87,700
  7. Jeeran Jain – INR 6,54,600
  8. Nikhil Jain – INR 5,24,600
