Riot Games has confirmed that it will expand its popular game Valorant to other platforms. Valorant Mobile was rumoured to be in the development stages and Riot Games has reportedly confirmed the rumors. The launch of Valorant Mobile could be one of the biggest developments in the world of esports.
According to a DOT Esports report, Riot Games have assured its entry into the mobile gaming segment with a new title. The developer’s confirmation hinting at the launch of Valorant Mobile soon.
Valorant was launched on PC last year on June 2nd. To mark the shooter game’s one year anniversary, the developer confirmed that it will expand the Valorant franchise. The celebration will also include a month-long in-game event hosted by the developer.

Riot Games said they’re working on the expansion of the game, starting with Valorant Mobile, as they want Valorant to reach more players around the world. Anna Donlon, Executive Producer, Valorant, said, “One of our top goals this first year was to earn the trust and respect of the global FPS community, and to prove to them that Valorant will always uphold the fundamentals of a truly worthwhile competitive tac-shooter.”
“To see our growing player community recognise and appreciate what we’re trying to do with Valorant is beyond what we could’ve expected and we’re thrilled to soon offer the same competitive Valorant experience to even more global players,” she added.

The developer says the game is played by 14 million players each month. Additionally, Riot Games hosted their first-ever international LAN tournament for Valorant in Iceland in 2021.To celebrate its success during the first year, the game will host an in-game event throughout the month. The event which will continue throughout June will feature in-game rewards and initiatives such as player cards and a free event pass.
The mobile version of the game is currently under development. However, Riot Games did not reveal any date for the mobile version of the game or or developments about how the game is going to be. Donlon says, “We’re not confirming dates, but hopefully that’s something we’ll be able to see in year two.”
