RedKings shuts down after almost 13 years

Last week, RedKings, a platform for online poker and sports betting, announced that it will shut down in a statement posted on their website. The company explained that after 13 years of ‘shuffling cards at the tables’ they have closed two of their products: poker and betting.

The statement further clarified “The casino will continue as normal and your account will stay active so you will be able to access your funds to play or withdraw at any time using your same log-in details.” RedKings had buried their foot firmly in this industry over the duration of their existence.

The company had most recently was operating as a skin on Microgaming Poker Network (MPN). The operator said that its player base can finish existing bonuses with RedKings until 28^th April 2019. However, new bonuses will cease to be issued and the monthly Chase and Point per day promotions have also been stopped for this month.

Betsafe will take over RedKings popular promotions so that the players may continue playing poker at MPN, the statement clarified. As for sports betting, RedKings advised its customers to gets all their bets settled by 24^th April 2019. RedKings, based out of UK, will continue to operate its online casino business regularly.

UK has seen many gambling businesses shut down in recent times and RedKings is the latest one of them. While it didn’t explain why they decided to shut its 2 operations, the current environment in the county must’ve factored into it somehow.

BetBright, one of the UK-facing gambling companies, shut down its B2C last month, after a much larger company 888 Holdings purchased its technological platform for 15 million pounds. In late March this year, 188BET also announced shutting its shop in the ‘very competitive’ UK and Ireland’s gambling market.
