Recap: Indian Player Performances At USOP Da Nang 2023

The U Series of Poker (USOP) ended its 2023 on a blast in Vietnam with their highly anticipated event, USOP Da Nang 2023, taking place between 17th to 27th November 2023.  The Indian contingent of players who travelled to Vietnam for one of the much-awaited series of the year not only managed to make their presence felt but also shined bright during the poker fiesta. Let’s have a look at some of the top-performing Indians at the USOP Da Nang 2023. 

Amit Kaushik shipped the Turbo event at USOP Da Nang 2023. He won the fifth tournament on the schedule to pocket a payday of VND 72 Million for the Turbo win. Apart from Kaushik, Vinay B was another poker pro who managed to etch a name for himself by shipping his maiden live poker title at the USOP Da Nang 2023. The pro defeated fellow countryman Jatin Sablani to grab his first-ever live title.

Vinay nailed the Event #40 Mystery Rush Bounty to win a total sum of VND 256,300,000 for his performance. It is worth noting that he knocked out several rivals and collected bounties to boost his earrings, with his total winnings from the event at VND 411.3 Million (~₹14.12 Lakh).

Rohit Begwani also became a USOP champion by shipping the Event #50 Hyper Turbo and pocketing prize money worth VND 69,100,000. Begwani emerged victorious against 67 entries at the event. It is also worth noting that the Indian pro previously finished runner-up at the Turbo event.

Chiraag Patel was another Indian pro who registered his name in poker history by shipping The Closer at USOP Da Nang 2023 to pocket VND 223,800,000. The player got the better of 187 total entries to secure the title and trophy for himself.

Apart from the above mentioned players Deepankur Gupta and Arun Vijay Mutgi added to the country’s success with cash finishes in The Closer finishing in 21st (₹40,586) and 22nd (₹33,019) place respectively. Ritwik Khanna finished in 11th place (₹7.44 Lakh) while Kaushik  finished 23rd (₹3.18 Lakh) to record commendable finishes in High Roller: The Finale as well. Begwani also claimed 4th spot (₹63,287) in the Short Deck Turbo event while Jatin Sablani also made it to the final table  and ended on the 6th spot, earning ₹37,147.
