MadOverPoker temporarily ‘suspends’ online operations

MadOverPoker was among one of the many rapidly rising Indian poker companies that regularly hosted big promotions and tournaments, while also often sending players to international poker destinations. However, in a very shocking development, the company recently sent out a message to its players regarding a suspension of operations.

This happened a couple of weeks ago and since then, the hundreds of active players have been busy withdrawing existing balances for MadOverPoker. What has prompted this suspension, we don’t know as yet, but it will be interesting to see whether MadOverPoker someday makes a comeback with bigger and better features.

Tournaments and cash games have already been suspended on the app/website since 21st June 2019 and there are three more days for players to cash out pending balances. ‘Summer Madness’ was one of their latest promotions and very surprisingly, this announcement came during the promotion itself, which eventually ended on 15th June.

Here’s the notice on the MOP website:

“IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that MadOverPoker is temporarily suspending its operations by 30th June’19 due to business restructuring. All players are requested to go through the T&Cs (http://nmc.sg/fd7wMG) & claim unused cash balances. Feel free to reach our support in case of any queries.”

Gutshot contact CEO and Founder, Amit Kanodia regarding the same to know what could have brought on this suspension and whether or not MadOverPoker will be back in the future. However, due to certain NDAs and legal restrictions, Kanodia preferred not to comment on the same.

MadOverPoker’s software was provided by Russia’s Connective Games which recently won an award for the best ‘Poker Software Supplier’ at the EGR B2B Awards 2019, London. So, we’re sure there were no issues in gameplay on MOP. We will now only have to wait and see what the future of the brand is.
