Monday’s on The Spartan Poker are famous for the Mega Freeze tournament which, as the name suggests, is a freezeout tournament with a buy-in of INR 5,500. This is one of their featured tournaments and the top performers from these tournaments also add to their points on the Hot Tournament Leaderboard.
Last night, the Mega Freeze INR 6 Lakh GTD tournament kicked off at 7:30pm and attracted a field of 109 entries, where once you bust your stack, there’s no coming back. Among the top 15 players who shared the prize pool with a min-cash of INR 10,800 were a lot of well-known players.
Finishing in 9th place was Goonjan Mall aka ‘gmtesting’ who has been winning very frequently in recent times, while Srihari Bank aka ‘bangbang99’ finished in 8th place. In 4th place was ‘Malicious’ who recently took down the Daredevil tournament on Spartan over the weekend.
The top two players to reach heads-up were none other than ‘Crime_Master_Gogo’ and Rajat Sharma aka ‘GarammasaIa’, both of who have been having a good run of late. It was just last week that Sharma won the Sunday SuperStack title while Crime_Master_Gogo was one of the five winners of the inaugural 5 for 5 tournament a couple of nights back.
Here, Sharma managed to get the better of Crime_Master_Gogo in heads-up, with the tournament ending in Level #33 at 12:13am this morning, with the blinds at 4,500/9,000 – 1,125. Both players checked till the river and Crime_Master_Gogo won a small pot of 20,250 chips to be slightly level with Sharma in chips before they struck a deal in heads-up. The deal led to Sharma winning the title and taking away INR 1,30,725 while Crime_Master_Gogo won INR 1,28,175 in prize money for finishing second.
