As the name suggests, Event #21 of the 2018 World Series of Poker will make one lucky and skilled poker player a millionaire, with a buy-in as low as $1,500. There was Indian participation in this event and Raghav Bansal, one of India’s top poker pros and a regular Indian representative at the WSOP, has reached Day 3 of this event.
He cashed out in 4 events at the 2017 World Series and will be trying to go one step further this year, having already cashed once in the Colossus event. With nearly a million dollars in live poker earnings, he is one of India’s most decorated poker players and he has one of the top chip stacks as the final 164 survivors move into Day 3 of the WSOP Millionaire Maker event.
Slightly over 1,000 players are being paid out in this event with a minimum cash prize of $2,249. Another Indian pro, Kunal Patni, made a good run in this event, busting in 196th position just before the end of play on Day 2 and cashing for $6,654. Tomorrow, Bansal will come out to play for that top prize of $1,173,223 and we will all be hoping he gets there to bring India its second WSOP bracelet.
Top chip counts:
Bansal’s highest live cash came in April last year, when he finished second in the PokerStars Championship High Roller Event, Macau, for HKD 2,610,000 ($335,910). He currently has the 16th highest chip stack in this event and we will be following his progress through Day 3, so stay tuned to GutshotMagazine.com.
