Purple Poker announces 1CR GTD series starting today

Purple Poker (sign-up using “GUTSHOT“), a relatively newer brand in the industry, having offered some exciting promos and events in the past, have come up with a surprising new series which is sure to bring a smile on your face. The series called ‘Purple Patch Series’ (PPS) will begin today. The surprising part is that the series has an awesome total guarantee of INR 1 Crore.

The series will run between the dates 5-9 April 2019 and players who wish to play the entire schedule of the series also have a good offer. If you deposit INR 60,000 or above on the platform using the code “PATCH“, you will get tickets to all the tournaments lined up in the series. This will have you saved INR 30,000 in buy-ins. The 2 marquee events in the schedule are High Roller INR 20 Lakhs GTD and the highlight Main Event INR 30 Lakhs GTD scheduled back-to-back on 6th and 7th April. The buy-in of the former is INR 11,000, the biggest buy-in event of the series. The Main Event on the other hand can be played with INR 5,500.

Other event buy-ins in the PPS start from zero. The Freeroll will be hosted on the last day and guarantees INR 2.5 Lakhs in prize money. On top of this, every event has individual codes which after a certain minimum deposit, will avail you a free ticket to the respective tournament. Gutshot even had a short interview with Purple Poker Pro Firoz Khan (pictured below) regarding this upcoming series. Khan, for those of you who don’t know, is an Electronics Engineer turned poker pro since the last 3 years. He was part of the winning Goan Nuts Team in PSL Season 2, which he considers as one of his proudest achievements.

We approached him with a view to provide players with some insights into this series and here’s what followed:

How are you going to tackle this series?

It’s a mix of 10 tournaments over 5 days. I’ll approach each one as it comes. I would love to employ a new strategy for different events depending on the structure, buy-in and turnout.

What are the unique aspects of PPS that set it apart from similar offerings on other leading platforms?

We want every small/medium stakes grinder to benefit from this series. Giving away 30k worth of tickets for 60k deposit is extremely high value. INR 5 Lakhs leaderboard prize money is again a very incentive. We have run a PUBG tournament too where the winners would get free tickets to this series. Unique, isn’t it?

Is this Purple Poker’s biggest initiative yet?

Purple Poker has always come up with interesting high value promotions for the grinders. This series is the largest by far. We’ll be more of such promotions with a higher frequency in the coming days.

Since you’re a team pro of the brand, tell us what went into creating this offering, from your perspective?

I’m very grateful to Purple Poker for giving this opportunity to me at a very early stage in my career. While conceiving & designing this series our entire focus was on players who would want to boost their bankrolls with the softest of grinds. Small buy-in & large GTD were our topmost priorities.
