PokerStars SCOOP 2020: Steve O’Dwyer wins High Roller!


Several live poker brands have teamed up with online poker rooms to keep the action moving. The ongoing 2020 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) spreads across 240 events guaranteeing $85 million in prize money. The series kicked off in late April and will continue till 19 May. A total of nine champions were crowned on Wednesday and several other tournaments were also played out. And it was Steve O’Dwyer aka ‘Mr. Tim Caum’ who took down the $25,000 Super High Roller for a hefty $521,598 in prize money!

Dwyer can be found on the top in any of the tournaments around the world, but he never managed to win a PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker title. And this changed on Wednesday when he defeated Andras Nemeth aka ‘probirs’ in heads-up bagging his first SCOOP title in $25,000 Super High Roller. The champion has over $30 million in live winnings and over $6 million in online sphere.

The event attracted a total of 89 entries for a buy-in of $25k which created a prize pool of $2.18 million. The final day began with Nemeth in chip lead with 10 remaining survivors and Dwyer was short stacked. It was Ben Sulsky aka Sauce123’ who bubbled the final table. Soon after the dismissal of Chun Lei Zhou aka ‘SamRostan’ in third place, heads-up got underway. The event ended when Nemeth’s Ace King failed to dominate Dwyer’s King Ten and the latter rivered a ten to secure the title!
