Tuesday Roundup: Singh, Taneja, Arya, Rohilla Win Big!


Unlike Monday, yesterday was action-packed with hundreds of players and regs conquering events and taking home bundles of cash prizes. The main highlight of the day was PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) and Adda52 Monthly Value Series (AOPS). And here is a recap of all that went down across the major online platforms…

The Race

After finishing runner-up in Monday’s The Flash, Spartan reg Anirudh Reddy aka ‘flash’ took down The Race INR 7.5 Lakhs GTD tourney last night on Spartan Poker. The INR 1,650 buy-in event drew 428 runners out of which the top 39 players ended up earning a min-cash. Reddy secured the first-place cash prize while Ashish Ahuja aka ‘Spweushhhiiiii’ finished second place.

PPL #26 SuperStack 8-Max

Gautam Rohilla bagged two PPL titles last night, becoming the star performer! PPL #26 SuperStack 8-Max INR 5 Lakhs GTD attracted a field of 229 entries who chipped in INR 1,650 on PokerBaazi. At least INR 4,150 was reserved as min-cash for the top finishers. Rohilla aka ‘M8a7’ triumphed the event after outlasting ‘Afgrinder’ in heads-up and pocketed the first prize of INR 1.18 Lakh. The latter earned INR 82.55K for his efforts.

Rohilla also took down the INR 5 Lakhs GTD PPL #32 PLO running ahead a field of 430 entries. The champion sealed a paycheque of INR 1.08 Lakh after eliminating ‘theoddrod’ in heads-up.

PPL #27 5-Max Turbo

At 5:30 pm yesterday, PokerBaazi hosted PPL #27 5-Max Turbo assuring INR 5 Lakhs in prize pool. After the bubble burst, the top 18 places were paid out with circuit grinder Harsh Bubna aka ‘harsh1327’ topping the field and winning INR 1.29 Lakh just after ‘sammyboy’ finished runner-up for INR 90.15K. The INR 2,750 buy-in event drew attention of a total 141 entries last evening on the site.

PPL #28 6-Max DST

Offering another big tournament, PokerBaazi’s PPL #28 6-Max DST INR 12 Lakhs GTD clocked in 437 runners. Sprinting his way to top the field was Sanjay Taneja aka ‘Dynamo’ who beat ‘Jeet0’ heads-up for INR 2.41 Lakhs in top prize. The latter amassed INR 1.69 Lakh for finishing second. Prior to that, Pratibh Saluja aka ‘pratibhsaluja’ ended up securing the third-place payout of INR 1.09 Lakh.

PPL #29 Day 2 The Endeavour

Boasting INR 50 Lakhs GTD, PokerBaazi’s PPL #29 Day 2 The Endeavour saw 166 runners taking their seat to grab a piece from the massive prize pool. After 4 starting flights, the champion was crowned in circuit popular Lakshpal Singh aka ‘boomtlt23’ who outlasted another reg ‘13anurag’ in heads-up. Singh secured a hefty INR 8.25 Lakhs for his efforts while the latter bowed out with the second-best INR 5.65 Lakhs.

PPL #30 Mini HighRoller 6-Max

Apart from the head turning event, The Endeavour, PokerBaazi also hosted PPL #30 Mini HighRoller 6-Max last night. The event registered 411 entries and the top 45 players secured INR 1,726 as min-cash. Climbing up the list was Garpal Singh aka ‘roothless’ who defeated ‘Chennaino1’ in heads-up. Singh earned the Mini HighRoller title along with an impressive INR 6.47 Lakhs while his opponent added INR 4.53 Lakhs for runner-up finish. Siddharth Karia aka ‘schemer’ capture INR 2.91 Lakhs for finishing in the third place.

PPL #31 6-Max Holdem Boost

At 8:30 pm last night, PPL #31 6-Max Holdem Boost kicked off on PokerBaazi. It took 5 hours or so for Tathagata Sengupta aka ‘Tintin84’ to power through the field of 338 entries and take home INR 70.98K as the winner’s prize money. After finishing 3rd in PPL #28 6-Max DST, Pratibh Saluja aka ‘pratibhsaluja’ secured INR 49.69K and settled in the second place.

AOPS Cowboys

The headlining tournament on Adda52 was INR 20 Lakhs GTD AOPS Cowboys. The action-packed tourney registered 470 entries for INR 4,400 buy-in. Devvrat Arya aka ‘glitch_d’ claimed the top prize after eliminating ‘madhabpal2015’ in heads-up. Arya added INR 4.90 Lakhs to his poker wallet while the latter was placed runner-up for INR 2.90 Lakhs.

Sixth Sense

PokerStars India hosted Sixth Sense INR 7 Lakhs GTD yesterday. A strong field of 242 entries helped in the creation of INR 7.26 Lakhs prize pool and money reached the top 47 places. Players struck a heads-up deal before Vivek Singh aka ‘Mystic Peaks’ emerged triumphant securing INR 1.18 Lakh in prize money while Prashanth Sekar aka ‘nemesis9961’ finished in the second place for INR 1.09 Lakh.

Super Tuesday

Another major attraction on PokerStars India last night was Super Tuesday INR 5 Lakhs GTD. The INR 2,750 buy-in event garnered 176 entries and the top 27 locked at least INR 3K as min-cash. After a three-way deal it was online regular Pranav Khandalkar aka ‘pkpok13’ to come out on top and seize INR 42,914 in prize money. ‘Hushpoke’ ended up in the second place for INR 43,052 while ‘GutshotHaiBro’ finished third for INR 44,288.
