TIPS 2020: Nitin Jain triumphs Super High Roller for INR 14.22 Lakhs!


The India Poker Series (TIPS) currently underway at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, the Czech Republic hosting season 3. With an end to both Spanish Cup and SPF High Roller so far we have observed healthy Indian participation and it was yesterday that Nitin Jain seized his first-ever live title after emerging victoriously in TIPS Super High Roller (SHR) pocketing a handsome €18,165 (~INR 14.22 Lakhs)!

The entire tournament saw 91 runners further creating a prize pool of €77,805 which was later distributed among the top 11 places for a min-cash of €1,945. The Indian trio Kanishka SamantAllen Arun Bansode and Nitin Jain progressed from Day 1 with Samant 8th in the chips. Day 2 saw another Indian name on the list, Himanshu Dewan.

Dewan who gradually busted in the 20th position when his pair of King failed to dominate his opponent’s straight. Next in line was Samant who was railed out in 10th position earning €1,945 (~INR 1.52 Lakhs). Eventually, with hours of grinding, Antifragil settled in the fourth position and the final three players struck a deal and that’s when Jain’s chip stack earned him his first title while Florin Braun finished in the second place for €14,401 and José Carlos in the third position for €14,000.

SPF Main Event (Day 1C)

Garnering a total of 396 entries in the third starting flight of the Main Event at King’s Casino the field narrowed down to only 81 remaining players. The largest stack of the day was possessed by Israel’s Mordechay Gaier bagging 920,000 chips. Followed the chip leader is Germany’s Marcel Ralf with 910,000 chips and Oliver Srienz with 744,000 chips.

Day 1C pulled out three Indian contingents (picture above) including Kanishka Samant bagging 409,000 chips, Anveesh Munjal with 253,000 chips, Mani Singh Guridutta with 107,000 chips who will join Prateek Verma and Jaydeep Dawer on Day 2.
