Nishant Sharma beats FT full of pros to win Head-Hunter

Every Thursday night, Spartan Poker hosts a unique bounty tournament called Head-Hunter INR 10 Lakh GTD which seems to be growing in popularity in recent times. Last week, Jayjit Ray completed two consecutive Head-Hunter victories, but he sadly couldn’t complete the hat-trick when the tournament was hosted again last night.

Saying that there was tough competition last night would be a complete understatement as the field was packed with pros, many of whom reached the Final Table as well. 265 entries paid the buy-in of INR 5,500 each and this took the tournament prize pool up to INR 10.6 Lakh plus another INR 2.65 Lakh in the bounty prize pool.

With an impressive 34th place finish in the WSOP 2018 Main EventNishant Sharma is known for recording the best ever finish by an Indian in the history of the WSOP Main Event. However, the pro is often among the big prizes in online poker as well, last night shipping Head-Hunter and taking away INR 2,85,727 in prize money which included around 50k for his 11 bounties.

It wouldn’t have been an easy ride though, as there were many known names among the 27 players that finished in the money, with a min-cash of INR 10,600. These included Arsh Grover (25th), Phanindra Akkina (23rd), Manoj Pentakota (22nd), Dhawal Lachhwani (20th), Ashish Munot (19th), Gaurav Sood (14th), Kanishka Samant (12th), and others.

The Final Table was an even tougher one as it included the likes of Siddharth Karia (7th), previous night’s Destiny winner Gokul Raj (6th), Sahil Agarwal (5th), Neel Joshi (4th), and Guneet Kwatra (3rd). In heads-up too, Sharma had to outlast Parikshit Dhall aka ‘zapdos1311’, the latter picking up a prize of INR 1.58 Lakh for finishing second, along with prizes from bounties.

Nishant Sharma plays as ‘FunkyouFTW1’ on Spartan Poker and this wasn’t his first major title and we know it won’t be his last either. The win will give him confidence as we move into bigger tournaments over the weekend and you can get an update on all of those here on GutshotMagazine.com.
