After a long and intense grind, the coveted Main Event of the VIPT 2024 has a winner in Australian player Jia William. When three-handed play began, William was the shortest stack with just 28 BB in hand. 

Along with the prize money of VND/VP 2,259,000,000, William also got hands on the $9,000 worth Main Event trophy. The newly crowned champion was all smiles as he posed for the winning pictures.

Heads-up play began when Jia William busted Phuong USA (second runner-up). William and Anh So were now the last two remaining players, with one of them set to emerge victorious. When it comes to Phuong’s final hand of the game, it was Fishhooks versus K9o. The female player was all-in holding her off-suit hand and it was an intense showdown between the two warring players. The dealer fanned out a board of 5 7 7 5 Q . William’s pocket jacks were clear winners and Phuong was eliminated.

Final Table Eliminations 9th-4th

The final table of the highly anticipated Main Event saw steady eliminations happen. Take a look at the bust outs from 9th to 4th position.

The much awaited Main Event final table is in motion with nine players battling it out for the title spot. A Vietnamese player called Anh So is the final table chip leader with a stack of 7,110,000. Another player called Phuong from Vietnam has the second highest chip stack of 5,325,000. The road to the Main Event title is not going to be an easy one with players fighting hard for the top spot. 

12 Players Are Left In The Field

The Main Event Day 2 which had 80 survivors from all the starting day flights, now has 12 players fighting hard for the top spot. For the unversed, apart from the first place cash prize, VIPT is also offering a shiny new trophy worth $9,000 to the Main Event champion. 

Coming to the chip lead, American player called Phuong is leading the pack with over 4 Million in chips. Nguyen Văn Sang holds the second highest chip stack of 3.5 Million. The average stack in play is 1.9 Million.

The wait is finally over. The VIPT Hanoi 2024 Main Event top nine payouts have been revealed. The first place finisher gets VND 2,259,000 and the ninth position will get VND 225,500. Check out the top nine payouts below:

ME Day 2 Begins

The Day 2 of the much awaited Main Event kicked off in style with 80 survive across four starting day flights. As per official figures, 80 qualified out of a player pool of 624. The seat draw for Day 2 are added below.

ME Day 1C and Day 1D: 53 Qualify Ahead

The last two flights of the coveted VIPT Hanoi 2024 Main Event concluded with 53 qualifiers moving ahead. Coming to Day 1C, this flight had 285 total entries and 36 managed to bag and tag for Day 2. Indian pro Neel Joshi managed to end his Day 1C journey as the chip lead with a stack of 901,000. Other Indians like Laksh Pal Singh and Suresh Kolli also qualified via this flight with a stack of 307,000 and 36,000 respectively. 

Flight Day 1D (turbo) had 132 players in all. Only 17 players managed to make Day 2 with India’s Himanshu Chhikara holding the third highest stack of 604,000. 

Overall, Day 1C and Day 1D had total entries of 417 and 53 survived the final two flights to battle it out on Day 2.

The official numbers are coming in for the VIPT Hanoi 2024 Main Event. The marquee tournament has surpassed its initial guarantee all thanks to the number of entries which stands at 549. Day 1D Kicks Off In Style

The last starting day flight to the coveted VIPT Hanoi 2024 Main Event kicked off amid high energy. This is the final  chance for players to qualify for Day 2 of the Main Event. Day 1D is being held in the turbo format where the levels will last for only 30 minutes.

This flight will see some fast action which is sure to keep grinders on their toes. So far, we have seen some great participation from the player community and flight Day 1D is expected to have a good player turnout. 

When it comes to adding a special touch to the ME, VIPT is also offering a shiny new trophy worth $9,000 for the Main Event champion apart from the hefty prize money of VND 1.2 Billion

The player field now stands at 269+ and the fight to make Day 2 has only got more steamier. The competition in Day 1C is only getting more fierce. Once the late reg ends, we will know the official number of entries in the second last flight to the coveted Main Event. Apart from Indian players like Jasven Saigal and Harsh Bubna, even Neel Joshi and Ritwik Khanna have joined the Day 1C action.

The Day 1C of the VIPT Hanoi 2024 Main Event now has 104 players in contention. The game is running on Level 5. The blind levels are 300/500, ante 500 and the total prize pool has reached VND 9,700,000,000. The average stack size is 91 BB and the total chips in play are 4,720,000. It remains interesting to see how many players join the action before late reg ends ahead of Level 11.

Two well-known pros from the Indian poker circuit—Jasven Saigal and Harsh Bubna have joined the steamy action on Day 1C of the VIPT Hanoi 2024 ME. Both the players couldn’t find a bag via the first starting day two flights and will look to spin Day 1C in their favour to make Day 2.

The Main Event Day 1C flight has 42 registrations so far. More players are expected to join the game as this qualifier is the second last flight to the marquee Main Event. Players can register until the late reg ends at the start of Level 11. With VND 10 Billion GTD up for grabs, the last two flights will surely witness some insane poker action.

The second last flight to the coveted VIPT Hanoi 2024 Main Event has kick-started amid tremendous enthusiasm among the players. This flight will have 35-minute levels and late registration will end at the start of Level 11. The Main Event comes with a VND 10 Billion GTD and the title winner will also receive a shiny new trophy worth $9,000 apart from the VND 1.2 Billion pay cheque.

Day 1B: 18 Survivors March Ahead

The Day 1B flight of the VND 10 Billion GTD Main Event saw 142 total entries battle it out. Only 18 survivors have managed to march ahead and will be seen locking horns with their rivals on Day 2. The highest stack in the list of qualifiers belongs to a Vietnamese player called Phuong. This player ended the day as chip lead with a stack of 972,000 chips. For Indian players like Harsh Bubna and Amit Kaushik, the day did not end in their favour as both missed out on progressing ahead in the tournament.

Indian poker pro Avneesh Munjal has bagged and tagged at the end of Day 1B. The pro survived the stiff battle in the second starting day flight and managed to end the day with a stack of 405,000 chips. Other Indian players who were grinding in this Main Event flight were Amit Kaushik and Harsh Bubna.

The second flight of the coveted VIPT Hanoi 2024 Main Event has 49 entries registered so far and more players are expected to join the fold. The much awaited Main Event has four starting day flights with the last one being in the turbo format. Players who couldn’t find a bag from Day 1A, will surely look to qualify via Day 1B. Furthermore, with multiple tourneys running at the Bolton Poker Room, the competition at the series is only getting more fierce.

Amit Kaushik and Avneesh Munjal

Indian players have been making deep runs and creating a mark in the series. Players like Amit Kaushik and Avneesh Munjal have impressed everyone with their incredible runs. Kaushik made the final table in two High Roller tourneys and the Mini Main Event. Munjal on the other hand finished 4th in the Deepstack NLH event. 

The poker pro mentioned on his Instagram Stories that he wasn’t planning on grinding in this tournament, but ended up participating as Harsh Bubna convinced him to play. Overall, Munjal was happy with his performance in the Deepstack event as he ran solid throughout the game. Another live and online pro Deepankur Gupta shipped the Vietnam Open and made his country proud. 

VIPT Hanoi 2024: Day 1B Begins

After an intense grind in Day 1A, the second day flight of the coveted VIPT Hanoi 2024 Main Event has kick-started amid high energy. For the unversed, Day 1B offers a starting stack of 40,000. This qualifier will have 40-minute levels and late registration will end at the start of Level 11. Currently there are 21 players in the field and more entries are expected to join the fold.

Along with Day 1B, a 2 seat GTD satellite to the Main Event is also underway. VIPT has added multiple satellites for the Main Event for players to qualify for Day 2 at a lower cost. The late registration ends at the start of Level 8.

Main Event Day 1A: 9 Qualify Ahead

Main Event Day 1A witnessed some stiff competition from entrants. Only nine survivors progressed to Day 2 from an entry pool of 65. The average stack in play was 289,000 while total chips in play were 2,601,000. All nine players who made Day 2 from Day 1A were from Vietnam and no Indian player qualified from this starting flight.
