Triton Poker is undoubtedly the biggest name in the world when it comes to high-stakes poker. Hosting 3-4 events each year, they always attract the best poker players in the world, those who can afford to shell out the massive buy-ins and if they’re good enough, they walk away with even bigger profits.
The latest series is taking place at the Maestral Resort and Casino in Budva, Montenegro and US poker pro Bryn Kenney recently made headlines as he won Triton Montenegro Event #2: HKD 500,000 6-Max Hold’em and bagged the biggest prize of the series so far. To reach here, he outlasted 79 entries in this tournament, including 34 re-entries.
Prior to this victory, Kenney already had over $30.5 million in live poker earnings and that itself speaks volumes about his talent. The high roller is a regular at Triton events and this became his third 7-figure score at a Triton Poker tournament, taking his career winnings to $32 million, now half a million behind Fedor Holz at #5 on the all-time list.
The 2-day event saw Xuan Tan and Erik Seidel end as the overnight chip leaders but unfortunately, they bubbled the tournament on Day 2. Canada’s Daniel Dvoress reached heads-up and bagged the highest live cash of his career but is still searching for his first major poker title.
“I made a lot of really good value bets, really good bluffs, played really ferocious, feel real strong. When you get in such a zone for a while, you can only really think about cards. I feel great, just because I only really care about how I play,” said Kenney after he added yet another title to his illustrious career.
The Triton Montenegro series will run for another 10 days and we’ll bring to you all the latest updates from this series, so stay tuned to GutshotMagazine.com.
