More about Rahul Byrraju
Rahul Byrraju is an Indian poker player who made waves in the Asian poker circuit. His excellent performances on poker tables and virtual felts make him a poker dynamo who is well-known amongst the Indian poker community.
While little is known about how he got involved in poker, his first recorded appearance traces back to June 2011. He participated in the Macau Poker Cup, playing in the NLH High Rollers Event, and shipped the event to win $79,932.
One of his earliest live recorded performances on Hendon Mob dates back to an outing in the Macau Poker Cup in 2011, where he played the NLH High Roller Event and won the title to win $79,932.
After tasting success overseas, Byrraju also emerged victorious in India by winning the India Poker Legend NLH Main Event in January 2012 to win $28,705 (~ ₹15 Lakh). He followed it up with a second-place finish in the NLH event of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) to earn ₹1,13,400 ($2,039).
The Hyderabad-based poker pro has gone on to do well in various series around the world, including Deep Stack Extravaganza III as well as the World Series of Poker (WSOP), Aussie Millions Poker Championship, The Patrik Antonius Poker Challenge and the 2019 ARIA Poker Classic.
While Byrraju is not seen on live poker felts in the recent past, it remains interesting to see if the player makes a return to the grind anytime soon.
