Poker Dream Main Event Winners List

Poker Dream is one of the most famous live poker tournament series in Asia. The series has taken place in several stops, including Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, and their latest announcement was for a series in South Korea. Poker Dream 11 recently concluded in Malaysia, and poker players are now gearing up for Poker Dream 12, taking place in Jeju from 26th September to 6th October 2024.

As is the case with every live poker event across the world, Poker Dream also has the ‘Main Event’ as their series highlight at every stop across Asia. Below, we’ve listed each and every edition of the Poker Dream Main Event, who shipped the tournament, and how much prize money they took place, last updated in August 2024:

Poker Dream Malaysia (2022)

The first Poker Dream series took place in 2022 in Malaysia, from 22nd to 31st July 2022, at Resorts World Genting, Kuala Lumpur. Joshua Tjan shipped the Main Event, Event #14, No Limit Hold’em, and took a prize of RM 546,010 ($122,511). The total prize pool was RM 2.8 million thanks to the total field of 654 entries. Since then, the series has gone from strength to strength and has become a lucrative poker event for Asians and others. 

Poker Dream 2 Vietnam (2022)

The second Poker Dream tournament series took place in Vietnam in 2022, from the 14th to the 23rd of October, with the Main Event wrapping up on the 20th of October. There were 822 entries for the main event and Minh Anh Ngyuen took home the biggest slice of the prize pool, taking home a gift of VND 3,378,000,000  ($136,004).

Poker Dream 3 Malaysia (2023)

Poker Dream returned to Malaysia for its third series, held once again at the Resorts World Genting in Kuala Lumpur from 12th to 15th January 2023.  The series saw 643 entries with a total prize pool of RM 2.8 million. Devan Tang shipped the event for RM 526,100 (~$123,420) 

Poker Dream 4 Manila (2023)

Poker Dream 4 took place in Manila from 9th to 12th January 2023. The location was the Grand Wing Casino in Newport City, Metro Manila.  TThe prize pool was PHP 28,751,382 ($519,578), and Edwin Dela Cruz shipped the Main Event, taking home PHP 5,510,000 ($99,518), beating 499 entries and Alessandro Taranto in heads-up.

Poker Dream 5 Taiwan (2023)

Poker Dream 5 took place in Taiwan at the Asia Poker Arena – CTP Poker Club in Taiwan City.  The Main Event had a guaranteed prize pool of NT$ 15,000,000. The series took place from the 20th to June 25th, 2023 and Peng Sen Wu shipped the Main Event for NT$ 4,650,000 ($151,061), which was No Limit Hold’em – (Event #13). The ME saw 131 players win a cash prize. 

Poker Dream 6 Malaysia (2023)

Poker Dream 6 took place in Malaysia at Resorts World Genting, Kuala Lumpur. There were more than 1,400 entries, and the Main Event happened between 15th and 20th August 2023. Ben Soon Yung Loo shipped the event, winning RM 818,000 (~$176,776) out of a total of RM 4,000,000 in prize pool. 

Poker Dream 7 Vietnam (2023)

Poker Dream 7 was hosted in in Hoiana Hotel & Gol, Hoi An, from 3rd to 8th October, 2023.  The total entries for this one were 1,351, and the Guaranteed Prize Pool was VND 20,000,000,000. Thi Bao Nguyen won the biggest slice, at VND 2,344,965,500 ($96,409). The Main Event had 144 players who cashed out.

Poker Dream 8 Malaysia (2024)

Poker Dream 8 was hosted by Resorts World Genting Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. There were 2,219 total entries, and Zarvan Tumboli of India took home the prize money of RM 888,000 ($187,729) (~1.55 Cr), which became his largest live cash. In fact, he went on to win another title (Event #22) later in the same series in Malaysia.  

Poker Dream 9 Malaysia (2024)

In 2024, Poker Dream had another outing at Resorts World Genting in Kuala Lumpur. There were 2,096 entries and a guaranteed prize pool of RM 10,500,000. The winner was Jihao Chen, who shipped RM 1,731,000 where 239 entries got paid out.

Poker Dream 10 Vietnam (2024)

Poker Dream 10 took place in Hoiana Hotel and Golf Hoi An in Vietnam from 29th April to 5th May 2024. Nishant Sharma of India shipped the Main Event out of a total of 752 entries and topped the event for a handsome payout of VND 3,756,953,000 ($148,243) (₹1.23 Crore). However, this was just the start of his supremacy at Poker Dream Main Events. 

Poker Dream 11 Malaysia (2024)

Poker Dream 11 took place in Malaysia from 1st to 12th August. India’s Nishant Sharma pulled off a record-making performance by winning two Main Events consecutively. The series saw 25 cashes and 3 title wins for Indians, with Sharma going home with MYR 811,629 (~₹1.53 Crore), out of the total prize pool of MYR 6,807,305 in the Main Event. Two Indians reached the Main Event final table, including Sharma and Harsh Dembla, the latter finishing in the 5th spot for a handsome payout of MYR 254,700 (~₹48 Lakh).
