PGT Mixed Games: Shaun Deeb Wins Event 1 And Phil Hellmuth Has Some Thoughts!

Poker pro Shaun Deeb recently won Event #1: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E at the PokerGo Tour (PGT) Mixed Games series. He emerged victorious, beating an entry field of 87 players and took home a pay cheque of $208,800.

The inaugural edition of the PGT Mixed Games series kicked off on Saturday at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. The first event of the series was a H.O.R.S.E event, and popular poker pro Deeb successfully beat David Baker in a heads-up play to take down the title. The event recorded a prize pool of $870,000.

Phil Hellmuth Reacts To Shaun Deeb’s Win

Naturally, a lot of praise and wishes poured in on the five-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner. But one such praise that particularly caught our eyes was that of 16-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth. Why was it so special? Well, Hellmuth called Deeb the best poker player in the world! A 16-time WSOP bracelet winner calling you one of the best poker players in the world should mean something, right?! It surely does.

“And…one of the best poker players in the world (unanimously @shaundeeb is a top three in the world at mixed game tourneys) wins @PokerGO $10,000 HORSE tourney. Nice job, Shaun! #POSITIVITY,” Hellmuth wrote. He also shared Deeb’s winning picture, where he is seen posing with his new trophy and a selfie with Deeb. Now that’s GOLD!

Interestingly, this was Deeb’s first-ever PokerGo Studio cash and that too he managed to ship the title. The event paid out the top 13 places, which included poker pro Daniel Negreanu.
