Yesterday, four Indians made Day 2 of the WSOP Double Stack Event, including Nikita Luther, Paawan Bansal, Akash Malik and Nishant Sharma, while the Indian origin Nipun Java also made the second day of the event. Of the original 5,700 entries, 1,280 survivors moved on to Day 2 of the tournament.
Unfortunately, Sharma, Luther and Malik busted their stacks on this second day, while Bansal and Java are still very much in the mix. After long hours of grinding, Day 2 of Event #34: $1,000 Double Stack NLHE finally came to an end, with 162 survivors bagging up to return for Day 3 tomorrow.
Daniel Colpoys, an American poker player with around $224k in live poker cashes and already four cashes in the 2018 World Series of Poker, leads the chip counts going in to Day 3. He has 1,405,000 in chips, while India’s Paawan Bansal has 269,000 and 2-time bracelet winner Nipun Java made a late surge to finish with 498,000 chips.
Bansal already has one live cash at WSOP 2018, finishing 13th in the Colossus Event, for $35,087, while Java has a single cash of just $975 so far. Here, however, both are set to get their second cash of the series, as the top 855 players are being paid out a minimum prize of $1,500. The current pay-out is at $4,215, while the person who ships the tournament will take home a massive amount of $644,224.
