Phil Hellmuth Lauds Nikita Luther On Her Run At WSOP 2023 Main Event

Indian female poker pro Nikita Luther’s deep run at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2023 Main Event has come to an end. India’s first and only female WSOP bracelet winner gracefully bowed out at the 96th place for $78,900.

Luther shoved all-in from the small blind with her remaining 2,285,000. Andrew Hulme called from the middle position. The Indian pro turned over an A ♣ K ❤ , while Hulme showed a A ♣ Q ❤ . The board flipped over to 5 ♦ 5 ♠ 2 ❤ , keeping Luther in the lead. The turn of Q ♦ changed the game. Luther was now only one card away from bidding adieu to the table. The river of 9 ❤ drowned Luther’s journey in the WSOP 2023 Main Event. With Luther exiting the Main Event, Estelle Cohuet becomes the last woman standing at the event.

Luther’s journey into the WSOP 2023 Main Event was nothing short of a dream. She was among the top stacks at the end of Day 3 as well as Day 4. On Day 5, she lost some chips just before the closing to the day, and yet managed to enter Day 6 with the 58th best stack among 149 survivors. Finally, after putting up a great fight her journey into the WSOP 2023 Main Event came to an end. 

Who Is Nikita Luther?

Nikita Luther is an Indian female poker player, who has played a huge role in putting India on the world poker  map. She is till date, India’s first and only female poker player to have won a WSOP bracelet, at the Tag Team Event in 2018. Apart from the WSOP she has attended and recorded some great scores at other international poker events including Aria Poker Classic, World Poker Tour (WPT), European Poker Tour (EPT) and Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT), among others.

Nikita Luther took the world’s biggest poker stage by storm when she played the WSOP 2023 Main Event. With every hand she scooped while grinding in the WSOP 2023 Main Event, Nikita Luther poker further cemented her position in the poker universe. The mighty talented pro impressed many poker heavy-weights from the international poker circuit, especially 17-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth. The ‘Poker Brat’ took to his Twitter handle, to applaud Nikita Luther WSOP 2023 Main Event run. GGPoker ambassador Alexandra Botez and Sam Grafton also took to Twitter and gave a shout out to Luther on her run in the Main Event. Luther is the only female pro to have claimed a WSOP bracelet.

For the unversed, Nikita Luther bracelet count currently stands at one. The diva clinched the top spot in WSOP 2018 Tag Team Event. She added a sum of $87,902 to her bankroll with this top place finish. This female pro who now resides in Goa also made an appearance at the WSOP Paradise Island in December 2023. Luther took the 25th spot for $13,600 in Event #6 ($3,300 No-Limit Hold’em).
