Nikhil Yadav wins The Flash on Spartan

Featured tournaments take place every day at The Spartan Poker and yesterday being a Thursday night, it was time for The Flash tournament to be hosted by this leading poker company. This INR 11 lakh GTD tournament is one of the most popular tournaments on Spartan, with a buy-in of just INR 4,400.

The tournament kicked off at 7:30 pm IST as it does every Thursday, and around 5 hours later, a winner was crowned in Nikhil Yadav aka ‘mobikwick’. He outlasted a total of 255 entries to ship the tournament, for which he was awarded a handsome prize of INR 2,55,750 for first place, which be a nice little boost to his poker bankroll.

Yadav was facing ‘pgp282’ in heads-up and he built a 6:1 chip lead by the time they reached the final hand. In Level #38, the blinds were running at 9,000/18,000 – 2,250 and pgp282 went all-in pre-flop, which was swiftly called by Yadav. pgp282 held A-2 while Yadav had Q-8.

The flop opened 6-7-Q and Yadav immediately hit a pair of Queens. They 5 on the turn and 4 on the river meant Yadav completed a straight while pgp282 didn’t improvise and lost the hand, with A-high. However, pgp282 was also rewarded well, taking home INR 1,73,250 for the runners up prize. Gutshot reached out to Nikhil Yadav, but he was unavailable to comment on this big win.

Today, 13th July, marks the start of the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) on The Spartan Poker, where a whopping INR 7+ crore prizes are up for grabs, including a Jeep Compass, a Bajaj Dominar and other exciting prizes for the IOPC Leaderboard top finishers.
