Nicholas Baris wins 1k Online, Jeremy Saderne wins Mini Main

The prizes keep flowing at WSOP 2019 with two more winners being crowned in the last few days. One of them was Event #68 which had quite a few known names reaching the money in a session which lasted for 11+ hours online. This was also one of the last of 9 scheduled online bracelet tournaments of 2019. India’s Shravan Chhabria finished 153rd in this tournament for $2,494.

Coming out on top of the field of 1,750 entries for a whopping grand prize of $303,738 was Utica, New York native, Nicholas ‘Illari’ Baris. The FT was dominated by USA players and Baris beat Tara Cain in heads-up, the latter also currently among the final 500 players in the Main Event. Multiple bracelet winners Chris Ferguson and David Baker were also on the FT of the event.

Event #69: $1,000 Mini Main Event

As the name suggests, this was a smaller, condensed version of the mega Main Event which began soon after this tournament concluded. With a smaller buy-in, a massive field of 5,521 unique players joined in and eventually, it was Frenchman Jeremy Saderne who topped the field, bagging a massive pay-check of $628,654.

It was a good sight to see as players of 7 different nationalities competed on the Final Table of 8 players and eventually, Baris won all glory along with bragging rights. The 27-year old won the top cash of his career to go with his maiden WSOP bracelet and the second for France in WSOP 2019.

“I feel very good, I cannot imagine winning a tournament with more than five thousand people, especially in this one when the tournament is very fast. You have to have good cards or a good setup and I just ran so good and had two times aces in the last hands,” said Saderne, who earned his 6th cash of the series.
