PSC Prague: Timothy Adams wins €50k Super High Roller
A couple of months back, poker pro Timothy Adams from Canada finished 3rd in a Super High Roller Event at the ACOP (Asia Championship of Poker), Macau. He bagged a little less than a million dollars in that event, but he wasn't going to settle for third place this time around.
At the PokerStars Championship in Prague, Adams was chip leader by a long way at the end of Day 2 of the €50,000 No Limit Hold'em - Super High Roller Event, and he wouldn't have wanted to settle for anything less than first place. Mikita Badziakouski and Adrian Mateos were the other two on the table with Adams, coming into Day 3.
Adams didn't take too long to send them packing, first eliminating Mateos, and then Badziakouski, to win the massive prize money of €555,000($654,900). There were a total of 34 entrants to the high roller event and Adams proved to be the best of them, winning his second title of 2017.
This was Adams’ third highest career live cash, and this win has taken his career poker earnings to $7,806,518. He is currently 6th on the list of Canadian all-time poker earnings, while he has moved up to 89th on the list of global all-time earnings. He did well to gain a chip lead over Mateos on Day 2, as the Spanish would've been a high favourite before the event began.
Adams also received 510 POY (Player of the Year) points for this win, and is now 22nd on the 2017 POY Leaderboard. Mateos, who grabbed third place in this event, is sitting pretty at #2 on the leaderboard.
Final Table Payouts:
- Timothy Adams – €555,000

- Adrian Mateos – €244,900
- Orpen Kisacikoglu – €187,710

- Koray Aldemir – €114,300
