Nazara Technologies Expands Gaming Business Overseas

Nazara Technologies is expanding its international gaming business, with a strong emphasis on the US as part of its long-term growth strategy. The company is gaining momentum in overseas markets and intensifying marketing efforts in high-potential segments.

Nitish Mittersain, Joint MD & CEO of Nazara Technologies, emphasized the company’s global expansion. “Several of our games are performing exceptionally well internationally, particularly in the US. As long as we can sustain profitable growth, we will continue to scale,” he stated.

For FY26 (2025-26), Nazara aims to accelerate revenue and profitability, surpassing its 10% growth forecast for the current financial year. The company recorded a 66.7% year-on-year (YoY) revenue increase in the October- December quarter of 2024 (Q3FY25), alongside an all-time high EBITDA of ₹52.4 Crore.

“We are targeting significantly stronger growth in FY26, aiming to surpass our FY25 performance in revenue and profitability,” said Mittersain.

Nazara Technologies is going from strength to strength when it comes to acquisitions and investments in the gaming and real-money gaming sectors. It has already increased its stake in Absolute Sports, the parent company of Sportskeeda and has now become an early investor in ReelSaga, a media creation company that concentrates on creating content for social media and platforms.

Recently, Nazara Technologies also increased its stake in PokerBaazi and committed to infusing ₹982 Crore in the poker app. To improve its investment arsenal, it has added around ₹495 Crore to its investment chest, which is also proof of its intention to become a gaming powerhouse in the next couple of years.

Nazara Technologies is known for its diverse portfolio in mobile gaming, esports, and gamified learning. Founded in 1999 by Nitish Mittersain, the company has grown significantly, expanding its presence across India, the Middle East, Africa, and North America.

Nazara operates in multiple verticals, including esports, through its subsidiaries, such as Nodwin Gaming and Sportskeeda, which are key players in the competitive gaming and content space. The company is also involved in gamified early learning through Kiddopia, an educational app for children. Additionally, it has a strong presence in mobile gaming, offering popular casual and skill-based games tailored to various regional markets.

One of Nazara’s key strengths is its strategic acquisitions and investments in emerging gaming segments. Over the years, it has acquired or invested in companies like Paper Boat Apps, OpenPlay, and PublishMe to strengthen its market position.

Nazara became a publicly traded company in March 2021, listing on the Indian stock exchanges with strong investor interest. With the rising adoption of mobile gaming and esports in India, Nazara Technologies continues to expand, leveraging its expertise in content, technology, and monetization strategies. It remains to be seen which other steps Nazara takes in the future.

The Indian gaming sector is seeing some interesting corporate changes, with Nazara Technologies and other companies coming into the boardrooms and raising their stakes.  All the while, gaming entities like AIGF are calling for more transperancy and streamling of processes in the gaming industry,
