‘MTAAA’ is biggest winner in Spartan’s OFC Championship!

More commonly known as just OFC, Open-face Chinese is a variant of poker that has been played since decades. Played between 2-4 players, OFC games tend to go on a little longer and they are nowhere close to the likes of NLHE and PLO when it comes to popularity among our players.

That’s why we don’t have too many guarantee breakers and high-value tournaments played in this format. However, Spartan Poker has always been receiving requests to host more OFC tournament and that’s why they recently held an OFC Championship on their platform which included 4 back-to-back OFC tournaments on Sunday. Keep reading for a complete summary of the series…

OFC Championship Event #1 INR 10k GTD

Spartan Poker began the series with a small buy-in tournament for the lower stakes players and here, the guarantee was surpassed due to 205 entries participating and paying the entry fee of INR 55. By the end of the first tournament of this single-day series, we had a winner in ‘haider’ who beat the field and took away the top prize. In heads-up, he outlasted ‘samy7867’ who had to settle for the runner-up prize.

OFC Championship Event #2 INR 75k GTD

The second tournament of the day would’ve attracted a completely different crowd as the buy-in attached was of INR 550 which drew a total of 171 entries. This broke the advertised guarantee to create a new prize pool of INR 85,500 which was later shared by only the top 9 finishers, each getting a min-cash of nearly 5x the initial investment. ‘Buddy321’ emerged winner as he beat ‘Zzzzz369’ in heads-up, winning the top prize.

OFC Championship Event #3 INR 1.25 Lakh GTD

Again, the buy-in took a hike as each of the 135 entries in this tournament paid the INR 1,100 buy-in to participate in the event. This was enough to beat the guarantee once again and here, only the top 7 players managed to get a piece of the pie. They all received a min-cash which equals more than 6-times the entry fee paid. Here, it was Nikhil Saraogi aka ‘nikhil_sarao’ who walked home with an OFC Championship title on Spartan Poker, also becoming richer by a healthy amount. In heads-up, he beat ‘sonudon’ who finishing second.

OFC Championship Event #4 INR 2.5 Lakh GTD

Spartan saved the best for last on Sunday night. Along with the rising buy-ins, the guarantees also increased. Here, the entry was INR 3,300 and eventually, the field was of 83 entries which missed the guarantee by just one entry. From this field, only the top 6 players were eligible for prizes. As for the winner, it was ‘MTAAA’ who walked away with top honours in the tournament as well as on the day. In heads-up, he beat a known player Rajesh Tallapaneni aka ‘Lord_of_the_RINGS’ who was awarded the runner-up prize!

With that, the OFC Championship came to an end and those who love this game would’ve enjoyed this day on Spartan Poker. Until the next OFC-only day on Spartan, make sure you stay tuned to GutshotMagazine.com.
