Millionaire Maker 1B: Iyer, Bothra lead 8 Indians to Day 2


Event #19: Millionaire Maker – $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em is easily the most happening tournament currently at the 2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP) where, as the name suggests, you are made a millionaire if you manage to outlast everyone else and win this tournament. Yesterday, we spoke about 5 Indians progressing from Day 1A of this tournament.

The second starting flight ended recently and here, another 8 Indians have managed to progress to Day 2, led by Abhinav Iyer, a very well-known face in the Indian poker community. Whether online or live, he knows how to rack up the big wins, and you can see a complete list of his poker achievements here.

Day 1B saw a massive field of 4,887 entries taking part, creating a total player pool of 8,817 entries. From these, 1,300 runners remained by the end of the day’s 11 scheduled levels. Abhinav Iyer finished with a stack of 299,900 which was not only the highest among Indians but also among the top 15 stacks of the day.

Trailing Iyer is Deepak Bothra who bagged a stack of 233,800, Sriharsha Doddapaneni with 211,500, Raghav Bansal with 117,800, Aditya Sushant with 116,700, Vinod Megalmani with 110,000, Prashray Rai with 97,000, and PokerStars Team Pro Muskan Sethi with 78,500. Indian origin Nipun Java is also in the mix. Remember, Raghav Bansal loves this tournament and even recorded a 21st place finish in WSOP 2018.

WSOP bracelet winner Noah Schwartz bagged the chip lead with a massive stack of 1.1 million, with the nearest to him being Erasmus Morfe who has only 666,000 chips. No one else crossed the 500k-mark while the average stack at the moment is 367,042 chips.

  4. Kfir Nahum – 384,400
  5. Caleb King – 371,000

  9. Brian Kim – 344,500
  10. Steve Yea – 331,800
