Martin Zamani Wins PGT Last Chance Event #5 for $302,500


Martin Zamani got his hands on the largest prize to date at the Poker Go Tour (PGT) Last Chance series when he won Event #5: $10,500 NL Hold’em on Wednesday for $302,500. Zamani began the final table as the chip leader and was able to seal the deal after defeating Kristen Foxen in a heads-up play. Zamani was aggressive from the start and only gave up the chip lead for a brief time en route to the winner’s circle.

The PGT Last Chance series is the final open qualifying competition for the PGT $1,000,000 Championship. At the end of the series, the top 40 players, as ranked by the PGT leaderboard, earn entry into the $1,000,000 freeroll championship event. Plus, the top three point earners from the series leaderboard who are not in the top 40 of the season-long leaderboard also get entry.

Zamani has been active in the poker world for more than a decade and saw his first cash in 2014, when he ranked 8th at the NLH Game of the 2014 World Poker Tour, taking home $720. While his total live earnings are $5,897,047, his highest live cash is $895,110, which he took at Event #33 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in t0 2019, which was a High Roller event.

Zamani has ventured into almost every major poker event, including WSOP, WPT and the U.S Poker Open. He won a WSOP bracelet in 2021 at Event #1 of WSOP 2021 Online, taking home $210,600 – adding to his list of achievements. With all this, he has proven his mettle at the felts, and it remains to be seen where he decides to prove his skills at poker further.
