Lefteruk wins WSOP #73, India’s Anant ‘MisterPro’ Purohit finishes 9th


Another day and another winner on GGPoker’s 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online has been crowned. Jim ‘grousegrind’ Lefteruk took down Event #73 after knocking out Endrit ‘YOUWILLLOSE’ Geci heads-up. The winner took home his career first bracelet along with a massive $299,511 in top prize! 

The WSOP Event #73: $1,000 NLHE 6-Handed registered a strong field of 2,202, resulting in the creation of $2.09 million prize pool. Money reached the top 314 players who locked $2,145 min-cash. Lefteruk has no cashes recorded in The Hendon Mob and this is his first cash on GGPoker. Whereas the runner-up has $213,650 in total live winnings, including 5 cashes in the ongoing series.

India’s Anant ‘MisterPro’ Purohit finished 9th after starting the final table with a chip lead. Purohit earned $22,250 (~INR 16.43 Lakhs). Other notable players to cash include Eugenio Peralta, Kevin MacPhee, Chris Fitzgerald, Nicolas Chouity, Gary Thompson and so on. 

Lefteruk raised to 400,000 and Purohit shoved from the big blind which Lefteruk called.

The board ran {8-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for Lefteruk to turn two pair to bust Purohit in 9th place.

After the elimination Patrick Kennedy, Seungmook Jung, Markku Koplimaa and so on, heads-up got underway between Geci and Leftruk.

Lefteruk limped in from the button and Geci shoved and Lefteruk called.

  • Lefteruk: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{a-Clubs}, Lefteruk stayed ahead. The turn {10-Spades} and river {q-Diamonds} completed the board and Leftruk won his first WSOP bracelet, the WSOP Europe package, and the first-place prize of $299,511 while Geci walked away with $223,978.

WSOP Event #77: $5,000 NLHE Main Event 

The $25 million guaranteed Event #77: $5,000 NLHE Main Event wrapped up two starting flights. By far the tournament registered 2,186 entries out of which only 405 players advanced to Day 2. Australia’s Kahle Burns remains the overall chip leader with a massive stack of 1,387,282.

The thirteenth starting flight, Day 1M pulled in 98 entries. The field whittled down to 18 survivors with ‘james5388’ leading the crowd with a massive stack of 849,104. Shyngis ‘somebodyelse’ Satubayev bagged 623,401 chips and ‘Matsuzaka’ with 466,775 chips in the third place.

Other notable players to advance includes Sam Greenwoood (344,355), India’s Arsh Grover (188,832), Stanley ‘Donkey_Fish’ Topol (155,515), Johnathon ‘Resolve’ French (117,156) and so on.

Day 1N registered 159 entries and 36 fortunate players moved to battle it out on Day 2. Martin ‘Estudiante’ Ilavsky bagged the maximum stack of 689,711. The chip leader was followed by Eiichi ‘yarsk’ Nakano with 462,120 chips and Sam Razavi with 446,595 chips.
