Kunal Patni, one of the most famous Indian poker players, has bowed out of Event #17: High Roller 6-Max at the USOP Grand Finale Hai Phong 2024 in 4th place. Lee Hon Cheong from Hong Kong lifted the event’s trophy. The thickly fought event saw some fascinating poker hands among some of the most talented poker players in the world. Patni is among several Indians currently in Hai Phong, playing for personal and country glory. The total number of entries for this event was 105 and the announced GTD was 1.8 Billion.
Patni has emerged as one of the most popular and successful poker players in India recently and regularly makes appearances at national and international poker tournament series. He has had a singularly good 2024. At Hai Phong itself, he was among the five ITM players at the USOP Hai Phong Madness Kick Off, along with Ritwik Khanna and others. Earlier, he was among the Indians who took trophies at APT Phu Quoc this year and shipped Tick Tock BOOM!, taking home VND 93,449,200 ((~₹3,11,127).
Patni has also had stellar playing experience in the domestic circuit. This year, he was captain of Deccan Chargers, the winning team of the Poker Sports League 2024. All in all, Patni is working hard towards making the poker game much more acceptable to the Indian mainstream. His appearances on the international poker circuit inspire poker players who aspire to be on the most popular felts someday.
