Kunal Patni and Akhand Shukla have added to the winning streak that Indian poker players are experiencing at the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Phu Quoc 2024. Patni has lifted his second title at this APT iteration by shipping event #57: Baby Superstar Challenge, taking home VND 1,436,070,000.
Akhand Shukla has shipped his first APT championship by taking the lion’s share of the prize pool of Event #65: VND 4 Million Super Hyper Turbo, taking home VND 48,205,200. Patni beat 47 entries to take the top spot in the event that he topped, while Shukla had to beat 42 entrants. The total prize pool for Shukla was VND 141,775,200, and for Patni, it was VND 4,559,000,000

Patni is having an amazing time at Phu Quoc 2024, as this is his second title. He has also been in the money in the series. He earlier shipped the Tick Tock BOOM! Event, which was one of the most unique events in the series, and he was at the Final Table of the Vietnam National Cup.

Akhand Shukla is an impressive poker player, and his win on foreign shores shows his level of confidence and skill. This is his highest cash at the time of writing this article. His first recorded cash was this year, too, at Event #46 of the same series, when he took home VND 6,380,000.

Meanwhile, Patni has had a much-storied career, and fans consider him to be one of the most popular and highly skilled poker players, not just in India but globally. His inclusion on ITM lists and shipping multiple events show that he’s still in the reckoning when it comes to a poker game, either in India or abroad.
The Asian Poker Tour is one of the most popular poker series in Asia and brings the best names in the industry to the felts. Since 2006, the APT has had several outings in the Asian subcontinent, including the Philippines, Macau, South Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, China, and Mauritius. This year, the series began on 8th and ended on 17th November. With so many Indian players having their payday at the tournament, it has also become one of the most important events for Indian poker players, both veterans and those who are aspiring.
