Khelplay Poker to Shutdown by 15 March

Sachar Gaming Pvt Ltd, owner of online gaming company Khelplay, has announced that they will be shutting down their online poker operations by 15th March 2018, citing a ‘business restructuring process’. The announcement was made on the Khelplay poker website.

The announcement stated that Khelplay will be discontinuing their poker operations, while continuing to keep their rummy operations functional, on https://www.khelplayrummy.com/. It was also mentioned that players will have time till 15th March to withdraw any balance funds in their Khelplay poker accounts.

However, users need not worry if they aren’t able to withdraw these funds by then. If, for any reason, the withdrawal doesn’t take place, the funds in player accounts will be transferred to their Khelplayrummy accounts. For now, the reasons for shutting down their poker operations isn’t clear. Here’s the announcement made on their poker website:

With a lot of competition growing in the online poker circuit in India, Khelplay may have just lagged behind a bit, and that could be the reason for the closure of their poker business. It will have to be seen whether Sachar Gaming will focus all their resources towards their rummy business or will be looking to venture into something new now.

Khelplay Poker was part of the international software provider Microgaming’s India Poker Network (IPN), and now only Pokeryaar and Pokernation remain in the IPN.
