Kalidou Sow Wins Winamax Paris High Roller Event

The last couple of months have been an absolute roller-coaster ride for Kalidou Sow, with his poker game earning him quite a lot of money of late. The player from France has been playing live poker since around 5 years but it’s the last couple of months that he has been enjoying.

In December last year, he pocketed his career-best live cash, by winning the PokerStars Championship Prague Main Event, for €675,000. He followed that up by shipping the PokerStars Festival London Main Event for £121,803. Now, he has won the Winamax Poker Tour Paris High Roller, for £100,000, meaning that his last three results have all ended in wins.

The Frenchman is enjoying a good run at the moment, with his latest win coming after he beat a field of 376 entries. The high roller event saw 47 players making it into the money, with a min-cash of €2,800. Dutchman Kees van Brugge reached heads up with Sow and the former had a lead of 14 million chips to 4.5 million chips.

However, Sow seems to have an ability to avoid being eliminated, which allowed him to come from behind and win the tournament, for £100,000 (~INR 90 lakhs). “Incredible!” is all that Sow could say when he was asked by Winamax about his hot streak since December. With this win, Sow has taken his career live winnings to over $1.45 million.
