Johannes Becker Wins 2nd MILLIONS Germany €25k SHR

Germany’s Johannes Becker is now just short of the $2 million mark when it comes to total live poker earnings in his career. A big jump in these earnings came yesterday, when he shipped the €25,000 Super High Roller event at the partypoker MILLIONS Germany; this was the second €25k SHR event of the series.  

The first one was shipped by Finland’s Patrik Antonius who picked up the top prize of €425,000 ($520,430). The prizepool was higher in the first SHR event as it generated a total of 51 entries as compared to the second event’s 45 entries (including 13 entries).

After over 5 years of being around the live poker circuit, Becker has now begun to rake in the profits. This win comes a couple of months after he earned €500,000 at another partypoker high roller event in Prague. He also cashed in $862,649 at a WSOP event in July, so we may be looking at a future poker star in Becker!

Coming back to this event, the prize pool was of €1,068,750 with the min-cash set at €60,000 and the winner set to take away a prize of €400,000. However, a deal between the final three led to Becker taking away a smaller prize of €320,050 ($392,781). He ended up defeating his countryman Stefan Schillhabel and Britain’s Niall Farrell in 3-way play after they agreed to flip blinds to decide the winner. Becker’s King-pair crowned him the champion! 

Finishing in 4th place was Brazil’s Joao Simao, who reached the final table in both SHR events so far. He lost heads up to Antonius in the first event, winning €251,250 for the runners up prize. The much awaited partypoker MILLIONS Germany Main Event begins on Valentine’s Day, 14th February. The event will have a €5,300 buy-in and a whopping GTD of €5 million, and you can expect many of these names to be seen again in that event.
