Jeremy Pekarek wins Event #9, Scott Clements Event #10

Event #9: $600 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has been on in full swing, with a handful of winners being declared already. Recently, Event #9 declared its champion in USA’s Jeremy Pekarek who earned his first ever WSOP bracelet to go with the top prize of $398,281, which became his largest live cash by a long way.

The overnight chip lead was with Paul Jain but he eventually busted in 7th, in a tournament where 4 Indians cashed including Tarun Ravi who was the highest ranked, finishing 105th for $2,603. The winner Pekarek took his career live cashes past $500k with this victory and he will be excited to play more the rest of WSOP 2019.

Pekarek beat 6,151 entries to get here and he was excited about the win, saying, “It’s been an up-and-down journey. This was always the goal. Whenever I started playing poker I was like, I wanna win a bracelet and here I am. I just feel like this is a culmination of the past five years of just me learning more about myself. Self-awareness is everything in this game.”

Event #10: $1,500 Dealers Choice

Finally, we have a winner who has won at WSOP in the past. $7.9 million in live cashes and a career-best cash of $1.5 million is what USA’s Scott Clements’ poker CV looks like. Here, he managed to beat 470 entries to win his third career gold bracelet, after a gap of 12 years since his last bracelet win!

‘BigRiskky’ proved that he still has it in him to win big, bagging the top prize of $144,957. He rated this the best victory of the three so far, saying, “Probably No. 1 because it’s been 12 years. I was pretty cocky back then when I won the first two. Plus, I got three kids so now I can give them all a bracelet.”
