Jayjit Ray ships SSS Event #23

Online poker player ‘David Blaine’ has been putting in a lot of hard work, and the results are now showing, winning his first major title on The Spartan Poker. After a couple of runners-up finishes, the player has won a title in the ongoing Spartan Super Series (SSS), for which he was awarded INR 55,748.

SSS Event #23 INR 2.4 Lakh GTD kicked off yesterday at 4pm IST and 362 entries registered to the tournament, beating the guarantee and creating a new prize pool of INR 2,53,400. The top 27 players were paid out in the tournament with a minimum cash of INR 2,281, and David Blaine walked away with the top prize.

Don’t be too confused. That isn’t the player’s real name. Just the name he uses on Spartan. The player is Jayjit Ray and just yesterday we reported news of him finishing second to ‘Namonamah’ in The Flash (Lite), and now, he has a title to his name. He is one of many who will have their eyes on the SSS Leaderboard, where INR 10 lakh is up for grabs.

Here, Ray faced off against ‘Katya_Joule’ in heads-up, who won INR 37,757 for finishing second. It came to an end in Level #46, when the blinds were at 11,500/23,000 – 2,300 and Ray had a chip lead of over 3:1. Katya_Joule eventually lost and had to settle for the runners-up prize.

In what became the final hand, Katya_Joule went all-in pre-flop with Jh Kh and Ray made the call with Ac 7h. As the players revealed their cards, Ray was ahead all along, with the board opening 6s 6h 3s Qh As and the player winning with two pairs – Aces and Sixes.

GutshotMagazine.com will be bringing you timely updates on all 37 tournaments of the ongoing SSS, so stay tuned.
